I was driving in my car and put on "Through the Trees" by the Handsome Family. After "Weightless Again" was finished, I had to put it on repeat and play it for about a half hour straight. Those fucking lyrics are insane, I swear it's one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Me neither, I think I'd kill a song playing it 10 times in a row. I wonder why some people love to repeat things and others don't. When I first began getting into music in high school I'd play the same tapes day after day but as my collection grew I always wanted to pull out something new or something I hadn't listened to in a long time. Except for new acquisitions, I still won't play an album more than once a month. At best.

I'm sure I've done it with songs like 'our house' and 'I've been loving you too long' but also some lesser known songs that are favs of mine - king creosote - 'counselling' and grifters - 'boho/alt'.. mostly songs that I enjoy singing (but I cant find the thread where I listed them all)

i could totally see 10 times in a row for someone who doesn't get burnt out as quickly as i do, but 40 times in a row is nuts. i mean, good for you, i guess, but i can't even fathom that.

i couldn't stop playing that mike nesmith song a week or two ago. i just had to hear it over and over. i was transfixed. so beautiful. it's like discovering a new world.

also, my favorite karen alexander album. last month i must have played it ten times in one week. Or more. I've probably played it 50 times since i got it last year or whenever. i'm obsessed.
