Andy Gray's comment's are NO WAY worse or even on PAR with what is said for 'entertainment' on Loose Women. And theirs is said PUBLIC!

xp my default football drawing is the 1970 World Cup ball, even though I wasn't born for another 15 years.

5WrightStuff The Wright Stuff
Plus: Andy Grey is sacked for sexist jibes. But are his comments really any worse than Loose Women's constant digs at men?

Throughout his career, Keys has been troubled by his abnormally hairy hands, so much so that he has undergone laser hair therapy treatment.

I'm probably the only cunt here upset about this,in that I actually enjoy Andy Gray and Keys on sky sports. Obviously they're arseholes and talk shite, but it just won't be the same for me anymore. Who is going to verbally fellate Rooney when/if he gets good again :(

If stelling gets moved then I'll really be upset.

Started to have sex with one of my girl mates, when she said "you cant tell your friends about this, I don't what my boyfriend finding out." I replied, "don't worry this is just banter!" LAD.

cozen, Wednesday, 26 January 2011 23:15 (thirteen years ago) link

Actually listening to the Keys apologies now, unbelievably bitter sounding. Obviously not sorry.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 26 January 2011 23:17 (thirteen years ago) link

only sorry he's got to work out where the next keys-gray gig is going to go down, now that it's not the media box at ot/anfield/stamford/emirates.

i hope he's calling numbers on a sunday afternoon bingo soon. with an o.b.e. for services to tosser charities under his belt.

bobbyhackettscornet (whatever), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 23:24 (thirteen years ago) link

nobody really expects him to be genuinely sorry or really understand the situation tho right? given the casualness of the original comments made only a few days tho.

idgi fridays (blueski), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 23:26 (thirteen years ago) link

Exactly. He's acting as if he made a one-off mistake which has been blown out of proportion, but the 'smashed it' clip gives the lie to that. "I'm sorry I'm now unemployed as I've been exposed as a total cunt" would be nearer the truth.

Death and Taxis (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 23:28 (thirteen years ago) link

Is it possible that Sky could employ some actual journalists to do these jobs? I saw that the Bir/WHU game tonight had Stelling (who I don't really mind), Redknapp and Merson doing analysis. The latter two are just fucking goons, total idiots. I despair.

MEG_tron (kraudive), Thursday, 27 January 2011 00:18 (thirteen years ago) link

Redknapp is very handsome tho. No homo.

À la recherche du temps Pardew (jim in glasgow), Thursday, 27 January 2011 00:45 (thirteen years ago) link

do you watch sunday supplement or listen to the podcast krau?

zvookster, Thursday, 27 January 2011 07:49 (thirteen years ago) link

it's a sky show where a bunch of print journalists chill with like orange juice & croissants

i wouldn't say there's an astonishing increase in the level of insight, sadly

zvookster, Thursday, 27 January 2011 07:52 (thirteen years ago) link

I've held my hands up. I was wrong. The big man's held his hands up. He was wrong. We've both held our hands up. We were both wrong. At times we've resembled Adams and Bould circa 1991! One mistake. 20 years. One mistake. Well, just goes to show. There's no loyalty in football. Not any more.

It's not me I feel sorry for. I'm still in my prime. Plenty of networks have wanted me over the years. You'd be surprised by some of the names. Let's just says that a certain West Brom supporting breakfast show host should be thanking me for his career. Tapping up happens. Of course it does.

But what about my mate. Andy Gray. He's given his life to this place. 20 years and hardly missed a game. Not like some of your modern pros who have to feel 'just right' before they pull out the microphone. Shameful. The way he's been treated. Shameful.

This place was nothing when we arrived. Do you think they ever dreamed about your HD's and your 3D's and your red buttons then? Do me a favour love. Look at the place now. Some people have short memories. But we remember. And the fans remember. Make no mistake about that. They're not stupid. And it's them I feel sorry for the most. The fans. No-one seems to have mentioned them in this whole business. No change there then.

"Football's changing and you've got to change with it Keysey" they tell me. Well if the change is for the better, if it's improving the game, then fine, you'll find me at the front of the queue leading the charge. But if it's not? As Andy says, "if it ain't broke don't fix it." Wise bloke Andy.

I don't feel that this is the end though. No danger. They'll be twists and turns before this all plays out. There always is. We'll see what happens a few games down the road when the new guys come in. I hear there going to give Stelling a go. Now Jeff's a good friend of mine. A good friend and a good pro. But I'm sure he won't mind me saying that he's untested at this level. This is a big step up and he knows it. This is Super Sunday. I wish him well but I'm fearful to be honest. The job's hard enough, but add in replacing a double testimonial legend, then the pressure will be enormous. Well we'll see. Will I be back? Well if 20 years have taught me anything it's that you never say never in this game. One thing's for sure though. You just can't take your eyes off it.

Super-rich Arab TV station Al Jazeera want to snap up Richard Keys and Andy Gray

I got a 'joke' text yesterday - fake Andy Gray job-seeker thing where he was looking for work in Saudi/Iran or "anywhere else women know their fucking place".

Hopefully they've booked Marcel Desailly for the first Tork Sport show.

three months pass...

"Thank you – all of you – who helped me and Andy (Gray) build from some very dark places these past few months," it begins. "You've been fantastic. To those who know me well and are concerned about what may bite you going forward – be sure it will – from the brothers of airline pilots to those of you who placed unusual bets on the last day of the season and have had a fairly easy ride despite indiscretions in Vegas."

three months pass...

The duo, who earlier this year were still using state-of-the-art technology to present Premier League games on the subscription channel, are shown in the videos talking about football on park benches, filmed by what looks to be a cameraphone.

At one point in the now unavailable videos, the pair's discussion on football is drowned out by the noise of a passing van.
