Bale's a more consistent performer now than he was around the time of the Inter game. Obviously he's no Ronaldo and won't be until he can score 40 goals a season and take amazing free kicks etc.

Marin has been p ropey for Bremen this season, including one game where the opposition put a man marker on him and he proceeded to basically sulk and stroll around until substituted after 55 mins or so. He was good last season though, although he doesn't play on the wing anymore iirc.

Yeah the position seems to have evolved from winger going down the line on strongest foot and crossing ->winger playing on 'wrong' wing and cutting in onto his strongest foot to possibly shoot -> oh sod it I'll just play in the middle.

I wish some club would buy and actually play Wigan's Albert Crusat, he's looked like an excellent direct winger whenever I've seen him, tho on the left so not exactly what Spurs need.
