Whole lot of that shit out there
But still that dummy/goal combo was so great

granted its just a friendly but Klinsmann really needs to show something tonight. esp w/ no Bradley or Dempsey (an exercise that'll probably be good for em).
― Hammer Smashed Bagels, Friday, 4 September 2015 13:07 (eight years ago) link
ya not sure why but this feels like a higher pressure friendly

MLS talking heads have certainly been pressuring him, which is so totally lol

better on attack than they've been so far, Jozy still with the touch of an elephant.
still some lapses in their own third tho.
― Hammer Smashed Bagels, Friday, 4 September 2015 23:53 (eight years ago) link
nope, same ole USMNT

rocket from Jermaine Jones reminiscent of his goal against Portugal in 2014 WC (only this one was saved).
John Brooks takes a sitter that needs to be jsut tapped in and skies it into the fifth row.

1-1.
US looking better on attack, pressing high, much better than I've seen in months.
defense still mediocre as hell tho. still rely way too much on bailouts

Yeah that was sad, feel bad for the players being put out in that mess. I'm generally pretty pro-Klinsmann but it made no sense, especially the continued use of Orozco who has never amounted to shit for the national team imo, not to mention Bedoya starting as a holding mid.

Donovan saying today that Klinsmann should be fired if US loses to Mexico this weekend.
I dunno if I agree with that exactly, but there are a lot of people who do.

― trickle-down ergonomics (jim in glasgow), Tuesday, 29 March 2016 19:23 (eight years ago) link
I read that if they lose tonight, T&T and Guatemala don't have to win another game to make the next round.
I dunno, I've seen them play in ways I never saw before under Klinsmann, but in both very good and very bad ways. They were terrible the other night, for sure. Guate's gk had a hell of a game.
U-23's are playing the second leg of their playoff vs Colombia for an Olympic berth tonight too.
― pratt truss it (dan m), Tuesday, 29 March 2016 21:12 (eight years ago) link
US has forgotten what it was like to not qualify for decades, maybe a good thing to have their backs against the wall.
but I mean even when they win these days, it's ugly. and on home soil.

has Wood done anything since that Germany friendly from eons ago?
Scored 14 goals in the 2nd Bundesliga this season? Not terrible I guess.
