bought some records off ilxor altair noveau/chinavision before he moves to new york next week.

raven kane & klaus netzle - silicon valley. hella weird album. nice cosmic synth music, but the chick sounds like barbara streisand or she's part of the cast of the lion king.

endaf emlyn - dawnsionara - 80s welsh
the passions - thirty thousand feet over china

jaxon, Friday, 26 March 2010 18:04 (fourteen years ago) link

hey ian, does your STRIDULUM skitter a little bit on your lil numark? it seems like mine has some shallow grooves or a couple skippy patches. im sure itll be fine when i can add some tonearm weight, but curious if this is a pressing issue.

69, Friday, 26 March 2010 18:05 (fourteen years ago) link

if you're watching this altair... why do you have so many damn copies of 'dare'??

a lagoon par la mer (psychgawsple), Friday, 26 March 2010 20:44 (fourteen years ago) link

he said he was gonna wallpaper his room w/it one time

jaxon, Friday, 26 March 2010 21:27 (fourteen years ago) link

i used to have a suitemate in college who wallpapered his room with playing cards. it was by far the gheyest shit id ever seen.

69, Friday, 26 March 2010 21:57 (fourteen years ago) link

i met a dude in chicago that put equally spaced ping pong ball halves on his bedroom wall in a grid. it looked kinda pimp

Stormy Davis, Sunday, 28 March 2010 04:08 (fourteen years ago) link

Since getting a regular paycheck for the first time in a few years, I've been splurging a bit to make up for precious lost vinyl hoarding time. My latest haul:

All three Chris Rainbow full-lengths (scored one of them from some chump in BK selling it for $12!)
Circuit Rider s/t
Babe Ruth - Stealin' Home
Toe Fat - Two
Michael Head and the Strands - Magical World of the Strands

the who cares (okamax), Sunday, 28 March 2010 04:13 (fourteen years ago) link

xpost AFAICT you can't totally go wrong with the dude. I guess I only have a scatter of like 5 or 6 albums between Seven Bridges Road and Switchblades Of Love ('93 or 94?) but I haven't found anything even hinting at dudness yet!

probably a sock!! (╓abies), Sunday, 28 March 2010 18:51 (fourteen years ago) link

flower traveling band - satori (original)
michael cacy - gathering (private folk-rock)
laura cantrell - when the roses bloom again
michael yonkers - lovely gold
ex & tom cora - scrabbling at the lock

ian, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 17:56 (fourteen years ago) link

'Immortal Gods' is so great. I already have the CD but may just need to swap it out for that new reish

Stormy Davis, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 18:09 (fourteen years ago) link

it's so affordable in comparison to an orig that i found it hard to resist.

ian, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 18:31 (fourteen years ago) link

wowsa, i'm assuming you got a pretty good deal on that original copy of 'satori'?

a lagoon par la mer (psychgawsple), Tuesday, 30 March 2010 21:15 (fourteen years ago) link

v.v. jealous of satori

dmr, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 02:56 (fourteen years ago) link

the satori has some scuffs but plays pretty clean, surface noise between tracks kinda thing. luckily it's not a quiet LP and it's a good pressing. sounds better than the radioactive lp anyway. it was $50.

ian, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 04:51 (fourteen years ago) link

(but i worked 7 hrs on sunday and took records instead of money so..)

ian, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 04:51 (fourteen years ago) link

how did that come to the store? someone brought it in to sell?

dmr, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 14:42 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah, this friend of Dave L's has a japanese father who happened to have two flower travelin' band LPs laying around the home. there was also a copy of Made in Japan but I think Erin has that one on hold.

ian, Wednesday, 31 March 2010 15:16 (fourteen years ago) link

My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything

and will be picking up my copy of Loveless either tonight or tomorrow.

kelpolaris, Thursday, 1 April 2010 00:02 (fourteen years ago) link

i'd say $50 for satori is a deal!

i've been curious about that ex & tom cora thing, are you guys liking it?

a lagoon par la mer (psychgawsple), Thursday, 1 April 2010 06:38 (fourteen years ago) link

i havent been -- the ex is tedious IMO

69, Thursday, 1 April 2010 18:28 (fourteen years ago) link

oh so anyway other than that german house box and the section 25 album i got last night and the tom ardolino album i also got stuff by live skull (haven't had a copy of the pusherman ep in years), athletico spizz 80, elektrics, hammersmith, sandalwood, jack traylor and steelwind, philisteens, people's choice (moulton action), feedtime.

scott seward, Thursday, 1 April 2010 19:03 (fourteen years ago) link
