Yeah I enjoy your shows immensely Ian! 'Living In The County' is my probably favorite Cowboy song. And you've made me decide I need to track down that Space Opera record.

Stepped out for a smoke and the wind knocked the studio door shut! that shit locks from the inside and I was the only one at the station. Luckily, I had just put on that Steve Gunn side from the three lobed box set. I actually drove to another programmer's house to get his key but he couldn't find it. I drove back to the studio, frantically calling anyone I could think of and at the last minute the operations director walked up and let me in. Glad he left his cell phone at the office last night. I was back in the driver's seat before the side even ended. A jazz show with rotating hosts precedes mine. Sometimes it's hilarious smooth jazz, sometimes it's really great early twentieth century pop stuff. I fucking love the radio so much. I saw this really remarkable Portuguese film this week called Our Beautiful Month of August. It's like half-documentary, half-narrative. There are some great shots in a community radio station in the coastal country town where the film is set during a program called "We the Women." "Every thursday from 15:00 to 17:00" (my old time slot!)(it really reminded me of KOPN's own "Women's Issues, Women's Voices)
― Trip Maker, Friday, 30 September 2011 15:41 (twelve years ago) link
aww (i can't wait to catch that flick btw)i am so bummed out, i really want a show around here & there is an interesting local community station, but it's run really ridiculously; i used to go produce for a pedestrian arts show (that i had to get up on saturday mornings to assist with), & still didn't earn enough kudos to get a spot.
am really into alla-y'alls shows tho
