So glad dude embraced the crazy

I assumed that the show would improve a lot in the second season, but this start has just been amazingly good.

― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 11 October 2009 08:05 (fourteen years ago) link
Yeah, it's been a drastic and noteworthy improvement. On a par with the office this season.

should I watch this? do not care for the US Office much.

Also, I am a big Ken Tremendous fan.

like i am watching the pilot and amy poehler is exactly like michael scott, what's the point
(a: rashida jones)
so i'd only seen the pilot up until last night, and dang this show has improved. still feels office-y in its format, but the characters are actually distinct and funny.
whereas watched the office wedding episode(s) and am just sort of bored with their stupid schtick now
― a perfect urkel (gbx), Sunday, 11 October 2009 15:00 (fourteen years ago) link
yeah im actually kind of pleased that this show started to get good just as the office finally started to suck
― fleetwood (max), Sunday, 11 October 2009 15:02 (fourteen years ago) link
i think i may like it better than the office right now.
― tehresa, Sunday, 11 October 2009 16:47 (fourteen years ago) link
I do for sure.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 11 October 2009 16:52 (fourteen years ago) link
Me too. I think the characters are just starting to come into their own.
― Nicolars was the drummer for Gay Dad (Nicole), Sunday, 11 October 2009 17:00 (fourteen years ago) link
I also enjoy this more than the office now. It's less like the office than it used to be.
― Super Cub, Sunday, 11 October 2009 18:38 (fourteen years ago) link
also the characters are more likeable, imo
― a perfect urkel (gbx), Sunday, 11 October 2009 18:40 (fourteen years ago) link
The Jim in this one is schlubbier and never looks at the camera.

one of the bars in last week's episode is actually a lesbian/trannie bar near my house.

OTM

viva mayor walter gunderson
― Andrew Kornfan, Friday, 16 October 2009 15:45 (fourteen years ago) link
this ep was ok. i don't know, something about the whole Venezuela premise was too obviously sitcommy for me. i do like it that Leslie has more chances to be semi-serious/not be a complete bumbling idiot all the time.
― Nhex, Saturday, 17 October 2009 02:29 (fourteen years ago) link
it was the worst episode of either season, but considering how great the season has been so far I don't really mind.
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 17 October 2009 03:04 (fourteen years ago) link
^^^this
― tehresa, Saturday, 17 October 2009 05:49 (fourteen years ago) link
great aubrey this ep tho
that's true. i wasn't really down with aubrey until recently, and this is one of those eps building her up as more than a one-note candy sour
― Nhex, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:09 (fourteen years ago) link
haa xp u guys crazy this is the only ep i enjoyed fully - prob cause insulting s americans are funnier than cloying stilted flawed/lovable character dynamics - they should run w/the ott vibe and forget abt that 2nd rate officey bullshit
depressed girl and boss are funny - amy polher i feel like is failing to bring the required pathos to the character - indian guy is coasting - r jones is teh hot - guy from the assassination of jesse james is a good actor in a nothing role
― ice cr?m, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:31 (fourteen years ago) link
i just hate that almost the whole ep relied on armisen.
― tehresa, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:36 (fourteen years ago) link
he was hilar
― ice cr?m, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:41 (fourteen years ago) link
love him, but the whole guest star thing always bugs me (w/ 30 rock, too)
― tehresa, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:44 (fourteen years ago) link
it can be hit/miss imo. armisen was great tho 'thank you for your bottle of sap and your bag of garbage'
― johnny crunch, Saturday, 17 October 2009 21:45 (fourteen years ago) link
Def thought this was the worst so far. The regular characters have been so amazing these last few eps that, while Armisen wasn't terrible, I basically wanted him to get off screen most of the time he was on it.

It's totally surpassed The Office. I don't think there's a single P&R character I don't love.

my favorite is Dr. Mustache

gotta respect the Coach McGuirk cameo

OTM. I've deleted The Office from my DVR queue.
― Elvis Telecom, Friday, 23 October 2009 18:31 (fourteen years ago) link
Jerry is such a unique character for TV. Hard to put in to words.
Excited to see what happens now that Andy can't live in the pit.
― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 25 October 2009 20:07 (fourteen years ago) link
I hope he digs a tunnel and builds an underground layer, which causes trouble when they begin to dig the foundation for the boathouse or swingset or whatever.
Oh yeah...KABOOM...the post-credits thing where it's revealed that it's a prank was genius, it would've been so easy to make it a con.
― dan selzer, Sunday, 25 October 2009 20:30 (fourteen years ago) link
and the post-post-credit thing where it's revealed to be real was heartwarming.
― dan selzer, Sunday, 25 October 2009 20:31 (fourteen years ago) link
I know someone who works for KABOOM. It's a great organization.
This episode was funny, but I too belong to the worst-of-the-season camp. That's an indication of the high quality of the season so far though. "Practice Date" is the best episode yet.
― Super Cub, Sunday, 25 October 2009 21:26 (fourteen years ago) link
practice date was next level
― tehresa, Monday, 26 October 2009 03:18 (fourteen years ago) link
jon benjamin is always good! chris pratt naked was cheap but damned if i didn't laugh. liked this episode a lot more than last week's, this show continues getting better
