40. banning cankles

BARRY ROUBAIX (haitch), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:39 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm actually ok with the cut of, say, the Levis skinny fit jeans, it's just the combo with the sort of oversized untucked plaid shirt (and the ray bans when outdoors) that I don't need to see anymore.

39) people bragging about how they're not on facebook

is this a fad?

indie spare (electricsound), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:39 (fifteen years ago) link

I wear skinny fit jeans because I think I look really dopey in straight fit, which I used to wear. Too much fabric flapping around!

43. Being made redundant and all the fucking bollocks that goes with it.

...don't know if it's a fad though.

44. Skinny jeans on guys that are deliberately designed with a saggy, hanging-down arse area, worn so the entire underpant butt area is visible.

WHAT IS THIS.

a form of natural selection, be thankful for it

BARRY ROUBAIX (haitch), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:43 (fifteen years ago) link

is this a fad?

more of an annoying thing than a fad, but it's another way for luddites to be all smug about how much they "don't need" technology. (nothing against luddites, just don't like the smugness. i don't "need" facebook either and i'm not impressed that you're not on it.)

I hope 47 doesn't mean Jamba Juice, because that is a trend that still has a lot of life left for me and everyone I know.

just thinking about it because the chronicle had an article about a building which they described as being in a Mad Men style. It's just a building from the 60s.

lou reed scott walker monks niagra (chinavision!), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:52 (fifteen years ago) link

it makes it hard for people w/o cable to understand wtf u mean

harbl, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:52 (fifteen years ago) link

haha mad men style

harbl, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:53 (fifteen years ago) link

espcially since "Mad Men" buildings look pretty sane

xp

lou reed scott walker monks niagra (chinavision!), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:53 (fifteen years ago) link

can we still use "mad men" as a universal reference point for drinking in the office?

49. People saying that Animal Collective are overrated, even though probably 99% of the population hasn't even heard of them yet, and then going "but the Panda Bear record was good".

dog latin, Wednesday, 11 November 2009 00:55 (fifteen years ago) link

wait i thought of something im sick of

50) disliking things due to the narcissism of small differences, sublimated and explicit self-loathing and kneejerk distaste for things other people feel earnest and enthusiastic about thanks 2 ones own total inability to feel joy

hellzapoppa (tipsy mothra), Wednesday, 11 November 2009 01:03 (fifteen years ago) link

xxpost I love ice cream. I don't care if the douchiest person I know is walking around with a cone of rose petal ice cream and that douchey person's s.o. is walking around with cardamom ice cream in a little cardboard cup, I'm still going to love these places and I'm not going to say, "But they were good when . . . "
