it's nice to see good art and a sense of humor bring together people who disagree so fundamentally on so much
absolutely. humor goes a long way. being a better cartoonist than all his peers doesn't hurt either.

I had to Google virtually everything about that Olbermann Merlot cartoon, and it still took some digging. Apparently he slept with someone and didn't call her back to her liking, so she started a blog about how lousy he is in bed? Is this the best attack people can come up with against the guy? Also, I have never heard of Mark Levin in my life, much less heard him described as "great." The whole thing is from some alternate universe.
― kenan, Monday, 13 August 2007 18:56 (seventeen years ago) link
Yeah, that's insane. I thought Mark Levin was the guy who made the doc about the Protocols of Zion, but his name is "Marc." According to wikipedia, Mark Levin was nicknamed "The Great One" by Sean Hannity, who I'm sure knows more about these things than we do.
― mulla atari, Monday, 13 August 2007 19:23 (seventeen years ago) link
why a giant glass of Merlot? it makes no sense.

apparently on the "Olbermann Is Bad In Bed" blog (whatever it's called) the woman alleges that he brought Merlot, and spilled some. So it's like... you know... a BURN.

also, are there really people out there calling him "Keith Overbite"? Because I was more clever than that in second grade.

― kenan, Monday, 13 August 2007 19:51 (seventeen years ago) link
Maybe the idea is that Olbermann isn't quite the loverman O'reilly is. Recall if you will this bit from the sexual harassment complaint:
"When Plaintiff responded that she'd never engaged in phone sex, Defendant Bill O'Reilly professed disbelief, and told her that the sexual stories he told were all based on his own experiences, such as when he received a massage in a cabana in Bali and the 'little short brown woman' asked to see his penis and was 'amazed.'"
Oh yes, please keep giving us excuses to quote this document.

"None of your business" Osama potentially an even better all-purpose punchline than "Thumbs-Up" Osama. I like that he traced the same drawing, too.

That NOYB Osama seems to be practicing Jedi Mind Tricks on Obama & Hillary. He's somewhat similar in garb to Obi Wan, so perhaps he'll fight that Darth Cheney from last week.
