This fuckin' guy...

I'm glad I'm of an age that predates text messaging so I can just point and laugh. Anyone who is any combo of rich/famous/married who sends sexy texts is just body surfing on razor blades, I mean wtf.

i wonder if tiger's father ever sent a letter about seeing his mother getting boned by Roger Maris and Michael Landon?

He seems more suited (har) to high-stakes poker, it seems to fit his action-junkie style. (if having hot blonde sexy in every port of call is characteristic of action-junkie style)

"Jaimee Grubbs - a 24-year-old cocktail waitress who broke the news to Us Weekly that she had a 31-month-affair with Tiger Woods - says the golfer, 33, never wanted to use protection. "He didn't use a condom," says Grubbs, who adds that Woods also didn't ask if she was on birth control, either. "It wasn't even discussed. He just never used one." Apparently, he also didn't use condoms while bedding 33-year-old restaurant manager Mindy Lawton, according to Lawton's sister, Lynn. "She said he never wore condoms," Lynn told British tabloid, News of the World. "I was so worried she might catch a disease, especially as we suspected he was promiscuous."

it's kinda like a dude who suddenly has financial troubles but really wants to keep his fancy sports car and his buddies are like, "get your shit in order and re-negotiate your monthly payment and i think it'll be okay...just don't go spending money on other shit for awhile until you're in the clear"

like the advice i would give would be, "dude, look, you don't want her as a wife and you don't care about her and if you did, you wouldn't be doing this kind of shit because it's not just a single drunken fling, it's a pattern and for her sake as well as yours just end it."

Advice: next time, find someone who's OK with an open marriage.

Action Orientation (Eazy), Thursday, 10 December 2009 23:30 (fourteen years ago) link

like the advice i would give would be, "dude, look, you don't want her as a wife and you don't care about her and if you did, you wouldn't be doing this kind of shit because it's not just a single drunken fling, it's a pattern and for her sake as well as yours just end it."

Why can't he love his wife? Maybe he likes/liked this life. Fuck around but come back to his wife. And of course the partner most probably never really accepts this. But maybe some marriages can work this way. I mean, I'm not saying I'm like this nor would I accept this, but I can sort of understand some marriages are like this or could work like this.

Nathalie (stevienixed), Friday, 11 December 2009 09:34 (fourteen years ago) link

It's "Celeb" marriage. The rules (such as they are) are different.

See, here is a situation where the man is 'desirable', so the 'temptations' are rife. So, what's the deal? Does he resolutely stick to his monogamy, or does he have an understanding (spoken or unspoken) that as long as he 'doesn't bring it out/home' and other half is 300 miles away (or whatever) and away for a month (or so), it's alright but don't go braggin?'...

(Swap genders in that one for whichever situ)

It's either that or 'wife/husband walks out, takes kids, and goes back to living in council house, etc.'

(All those rock bands, actors, sportsmen, etc, passim)

Mark G, Friday, 11 December 2009 09:39 (fourteen years ago) link

That's all a question, not a statement, obv.

It's "Celeb" marriage. The rules (such as they are) are different.

and this is why i rejected celebrity, when it was thrust upon me

So not only is there that Tiger's Wood parody porno, but heard this morning that Vivid is offering a million bucks to any of his mistresses willing to star in a porn.

It's either that or 'wife/husband walks out, takes kids, and goes back to living in council house, etc.'

seriously? celebrity wives do not go to live in council houses after a divorce, and i'd imagine in particular after a divorce where he's been caught cheating.

stop grieving, it's only a chicken (darraghmac), Friday, 11 December 2009 14:23 (fourteen years ago) link

Not necessarily 'seriously', but there is that whole 'upheaval' and to a possibly lesser extent a change in circumstances.

OK, more like "Not living in quite as much a big place, not hanging out with famous/glam faces as much"

And, naturally, I wasn't being specific to high-earners anyway.

Mark G, Friday, 11 December 2009 14:42 (fourteen years ago) link

It's about the imbalance of power.

Which is there in a lot of relationships, but it's more pointed in the 'wife/husb of celeb' situation.

Mark G, Friday, 11 December 2009 14:43 (fourteen years ago) link

i don't think it is, tbh. if you divorce a billionaire you're going to be independently wealthy for life. if you're a middle aged mother of four that's never worked in order to raise kids etc then you're in a much worse situation.

stop grieving, it's only a chicken (darraghmac), Friday, 11 December 2009 14:47 (fourteen years ago) link

This seems like a complete waste of time money
British court blocks Tiger Woods photos

"For the avoidance of doubt, this order is not to be taken as an admission that any such photographs exist," Schillings said in a letter sent to legal departments of British publications.

Hilarious.

Ned Trifle II, Friday, 11 December 2009 16:35 (fourteen years ago) link

Very odd. If the order doesn't allow it to be revealed what those circumstances are, how on earth are you supposed to know whether you're about to break it?

i guess i don't really have any advice for tiger woods. except like "yr an asshole?"

i just think it's annoying how they act like these decisions are all on tiger, as if she shouldn't or doesn't have a voice in it...

eight woofers in the trunk sb'n down the block (M@tt He1ges0n), Friday, 11 December 2009 16:44 (fourteen years ago) link

i guess it's this idea that above all the marriage NEEDS to be saved, as if that's the important thing

it's pretty obvious he's not a good husband so why should she even think about trying to save the marriage, she should just move on.

eight woofers in the trunk sb'n down the block (M@tt He1ges0n), Friday, 11 December 2009 16:45 (fourteen years ago) link

otm, why on earth would either of them stick with an arrangement that doesn't seem to be working

stop grieving, it's only a chicken (darraghmac), Friday, 11 December 2009 16:50 (fourteen years ago) link
