why do old people and old users of ILX such bastardos (deangulberry), Thursday, 30 September 2004 22:35 (nineteen years ago) link

The trailer for it. Gives me an erection.

If I can get into my ride and put on "Fuck Tha Police" I will die. It also appears the Eazy E makes a guest appearance.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 12:00 (nineteen years ago) link

blimey.

BLIMEY!!!!!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 12:31 (nineteen years ago) link

That looks fun. Madchen, can I come over to your house to play it and drink red wine?

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 12:32 (nineteen years ago) link

i bought a mag yesterday which had a dvd on with the trailer, how excited i was because i dont have broadband to view the trailer on line. upon getting home realising that some WANKER had stolen the dvd from the packaging cunningly through ripping the bottom and the me not realising because there was also some crap booklet in there which i thought was the DVD.

i hate everybody

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 13:40 (nineteen years ago) link

Just imagine a slicker looking GTA in which the black people aren't just cannon fodder.

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 16:08 (nineteen years ago) link

Sounds a bit dull.

adam. (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 16:10 (nineteen years ago) link

In the fullpage press ad for GTA it looks like Eazy and Dre in front of a '64 Chevy Impala.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 17:35 (nineteen years ago) link

Sounds a bit dull.
Wha???

57 7th (calstars), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 20:07 (nineteen years ago) link

the opening shots in the trailer are badass. perfect song, too.

i wonder how many discs the soundtrack will have.

I had a dream i was playing the new GTA game and I was really disapointed, all the graphics were like the Simpsons Hit & Run game.

Finally got to see the trailer last night, even if it meant I had to constantly click and drag my Media player window around the screen to get it to work. Looks good even though I hate Guns n Roses.

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 14 October 2004 08:08 (nineteen years ago) link

I rather like the "It's not L.A.. Really." thing.

Jimmy Mod, Los Sexx Yanqui (ModJ), Thursday, 14 October 2004 10:03 (nineteen years ago) link

nanananannannananna knees! knees!

the trailer wasn't that amazing was it? (it looked just like all the other GTA3s)

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 14 October 2004 10:05 (nineteen years ago) link

With more explosions. More murder.

Jimmy Mod, Los Sexx Yanqui (ModJ), Thursday, 14 October 2004 10:07 (nineteen years ago) link

more murder than like 5,000?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 14 October 2004 10:07 (nineteen years ago) link

I read a hopefully reliable article yesterday in a ps2 mag about what to expect in the game. It sounds a huge step up from the previous games but agreed the trailer doesn't show this up too well, just the standard driving flying shooting clips, with different scenery.

Still wetting my pants though.

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 14 October 2004 10:18 (nineteen years ago) link

"huge step up from previous games" = disaster in general though (although GTA3 is the obvious exception). The stuff about how you have to spend time exercising or you'll get fat and slow down, and about how you have to keep managing things in your hood or you'll lose control over it sounds like the worst elements of The Sims & SimCity stuck together.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 14 October 2004 10:29 (nineteen years ago) link

BUT WITH GUNS!!!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 14 October 2004 11:45 (nineteen years ago) link

I have to agree with Andrew that I'm really not looking forward to having to stop off and eat somewhere at different intervals. Seems totally unnessary and unfun to me. I hope I can just grow fat. I'll deal with the slowdown in running with more firepower or somehow. No way I'm going to have eating be a part of the game if I don't have to.

57 7th (calstars), Thursday, 14 October 2004 13:26 (nineteen years ago) link

The bit that I'm looking forward to, which I've heard about so far, is the increased distance between the cities; more driving, more gamespace.

so in this game eating makes you less fat??

No! Driving across interminable bridges in Vice City was bad enough! I don't want to practice my cruise control motorway driving when I've got a mission to do.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 October 2004 21:28 (nineteen years ago) link

Maybe you'll be able to smoke crank so that you won't have to eat.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Thursday, 14 October 2004 21:55 (nineteen years ago) link

Crank? Do you mean Spank?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 October 2004 21:59 (nineteen years ago) link

SPANKED UP MADMAN

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 14 October 2004 22:11 (nineteen years ago) link

This is supposed to be in 1991, remember.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:52 (nineteen years ago) link

There're so many great Playstation 2 games coming out lately. God, I hadn't considered buying a console system in years.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:59 (nineteen years ago) link

I read that they have tried to cut down on the barren areas like they had in Vice City, supposedly by having more pedestrian action or something.
The bridges weren't that bad were they? The bridge that spanned to the golf island was cool at night time, when it was light up with blue lights at the base and the familiar orange sodium lights on the top. Many a fly by on that one. god I'm sad.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 15 October 2004 08:26 (nineteen years ago) link

LIT UP!

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 15 October 2004 08:28 (nineteen years ago) link

i'm going to be so poor soon. pro evo 4, GTA-SA, Smackdown vs Raw, singstar 2

how comes metal gear solid 3 is released here like 8 months after US? (amazon.co.uk says it's released in july 2005 while amazon.com says 1 nov 2004 wtf)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 15 October 2004 08:34 (nineteen years ago) link

This eating/fatman/stamina/gym thing is starting to worry me, I just hope that they've done it in a very subtle way where you hardly notice you're doing it and you don't have to worry about it too often, like picking up health and armour icons in the last games.

MY WHOLE LIFE DEPENDS ON THIS GAME BEING PLAYABLE!!

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 15 October 2004 08:39 (nineteen years ago) link

It would be good if the eat function was also tied to a save function

Jimmy Mod, Los Sexx Yanqui (ModJ), Friday, 15 October 2004 09:49 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm worried about all this micromanaging you seem to have to do in the game as well (eating and exercising, which are two things I can't even be bothered with in real life), but my understanding is that they've made them into minigames that will actually be fun to do. Who knows if that's truly the case, though.

antexit (antexit), Friday, 15 October 2004 10:32 (nineteen years ago) link

And for the record, I think "homie," as it's being used on this thread, is a euphemism for "nigger."

antexit (antexit), Friday, 15 October 2004 10:36 (nineteen years ago) link

spanked up on monkey lips.

cºzen (Cozen), Friday, 15 October 2004 12:37 (nineteen years ago) link

cºzen (Cozen), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:04 (nineteen years ago) link

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:05 (nineteen years ago) link

?

ken c (ken c), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:06 (nineteen years ago) link

so you can rob a shop and drive off?

ken c (ken c), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:06 (nineteen years ago) link

I can drive to somewhere where they sell more games, and have better value, like a HMV or something.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:08 (nineteen years ago) link

i see! sorry i didn't think, cos there's a virgin megastore just down the road here.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:18 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm in suburbia you see.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:18 (nineteen years ago) link

HOLY SHIT. (note: audio may take a while to stream, be patient)

alfalfa romeo (natepatrin), Saturday, 16 October 2004 20:14 (nineteen years ago) link

(supposedly the "official soundtrack" will only be 2 CDs instead of the huge-ass box set they had for Vice City, but I wouldn't discount the idea of an actual CD for every station.)

alfalfa romeo (natepatrin), Saturday, 16 October 2004 20:17 (nineteen years ago) link

HAHAHAHAHA we can FINALLY run down people to "KILLING IN THE NAME OF"
