Maybe I should go to art school. That would break my "no more school for the rest of my life" rule, but..

On another wire service (Getty?) there are larger images of some of the outfits. KS just blows everyone out of the water.

Kors was right about the dress-over-pants being kind of played.. And yet, though I do love love love Jay, his look always makes me think it's too heavily inspired by what I've seen the RISD kids and film studies crowds wearing in the past two years. It's also incredibly closed-off from other people, which is odd for a dude like him but makes some kind of paradoxical sense.. to me, his clothes are all like "yeah, I kinda want to be noticed for looking fantastic, but I just can't handle talking to anyone right now, so bring me my headphones and my iPod stocked with robot disco."

The thing about KS is that she was the only one who chose to stay in professional mode the whole way through, so we never got to know her too well. Seems that she has been in the industry long enough to be more hesitant to take major risks (a la the fantastic Envy dress) as the show progressed, or to let down her personal guard. I think Wendy's Wendyness threw KS off her game a little, although on the site Tim attributes everyone's lackluster stuff to not taking a risk because they just wanted NOT to be out. Although.. I also think Jay just can't and won't do that fake-tan-Hollywood-sexy thing that Nancy whats-her-face seemed to expect. Jay's stuff is really all wrapped up and kind of shy, which again, is odd when you consider he used to work in the porn industry!

DONT OPEN IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED.
I'm still trying to make sense of what I saw there. (Search for Project Runway and see what I mean.) I guess there must be another big twist coming.
Do you think Austin will really get to design Access Hollywood lady's Oscar gown?

KS is still the best designer out of the four.
― The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:26 (nineteen years ago) link
Vanessa comes off looking almost worse than Wendy.
I had to feel a little sorry for Wendy. The producers used her as a pawn to add drama. Remember when Hot Bitch asked Wendy if she'd be willing to say something about Kevin's leadership? Then they put her in the hot spot on the runway. Still, it's true that she viewed the whole thing from a gross competitive angle, instead of making it on the strength of her merits she played on other's weaknesses. She said she wanted to win so she could "wave at Kara Saun in her rear view mirror" instead of wanting it for the love of design and fashion.
But maybe in a less weird environment, Wendy is not that horrible.
I'm pretty sure Austin is the one who actually drew on the picture.

austin's condemnation of the person with the pen did seem overacted.
i wouldn't put it past the producers to do it themselves. or the incident involving, "i didn't take the bitches dye!" m.

jay might have accused her of treating this af it were "survivor" but i have to wonder, if its not that, then what is it? project runway isnt a series about the lives of designers -- its a *competition*, complete with a grand prize. one person is the winner. real life doesnt have winners. competitions do. wendy is the only one who acknowledges this very simple fact and uses it as the justification of her behavior. i sincerely doubt she would strategize and act as cutthroat as she has on the show if this real life. but its not. its a GAME.
kara points out that you cant sell your soul to win and she's kind of right, but once again, i wonder how many times she questioned her own ethics/morals/ideals in order to establish herself in hollywood. i refuse to believe she is operating on purely altruistic motives. if one truly believes in the spirit of art, you dont have confrontations like the one thats airing in the commerical for next week.
furthermore, i fail to see what made vanessa's interview upset the other cast members. she doesnt tell who the winner is, nor does it give away any vital information that would put her in breach of contract and/or take away interest from the show.
i think its fair to regret something and she voices that opinion. she's one of the few designers on the cast that actually has her own line / stores / etc -- i could see how that may impact a person's business, for better or worse. in the case of vanessa, it did both.

I think the "cool kids" pile on Wendy was shitty, though I know how that tends to happen, hip unique special individuals do travel in packs. At least a few of them stayed out of it.

i was happy to see KS swallow a nugget. miss self-righteous needed taken down a notch. i think the producers did a fine job of making wendy less of a bad guy for this episode, which is nice. she's still paranoid as hell tho! sheesh!
everybody on this thead, stay back from me! you've all got motives!
