I love the long con deception layers - there's no holy "island" consciousness that Ben, Widmore and Locke all believe in, but actually Jacob and Esau - the same way the "others" are Ben and Widmore duking it out (the original S1 others vs. S4 invaders).

yeah it's funny how the implied big bad or most ominous/mysterious character has shifted over and over through the course of the show -- Ethan then Mr. Friendly then Ben then Richard then Widmore then Jacob then Jacob's enemy and so on.

What would be really awesome would be if the next/final Locke flashback was what happened to him immediately after the Ajira Airlines flight crashed on the Island.

i like the idea that there could be thanks to the jughead reset a 3rd locke still in a wheelchair actually...maybe it's HIS destiny to save everyone.

I think the main reason there's questions over Libby is that one time she appeared in Hurley's mental hospital it was like some big reveal. I dunno, if she'd been just sitting there quietly rocking in the background it wouldn't have been so myssteeriousss.

-who was eko's wife (remember he said he had been married, but that she wasn't on the plane)
-how/why widmore was banished from the island
-where the fuck are the children that the others took

been watching from the beginning with my girlfriend who has never watched it and i am almost willing to believe by the way jack and claire interact in season 1 that just maaaaybe they had always intended them to be secret siblings.

is Annie the lady in the butcher shop?

No, the little girl who was in DHARMA when he joined as a boy, gave him papier mache figures as a birthday present. Yeah, I think Ben's still got a few juicy bits of backstory to go.

Surprised not much has been made of Aaron's father considering the show's themes and the significance of the baby early on.

They really could've just let Desmond and Penny ride off into the sunset after season four, but of course, the island isn't done with him... Not really sure why they did that, honestly - dude's been through enough!

My Annie guess remains that she was pregnant with Ben's kid and died in childbirth, leading to his obsession with the pregnancy research - at least we'll find out for sure this season (I think) why Ben initiated it all in S1 with the kidnappings. Pretty sure the producers said they'd finally get back to that now - makes sense with the seasonal mirroring (4/3, 5/2, 6/1), Claire coming back, I think Walt does too, at least briefly. But yeah - I do think they've been holding it back for THIS long because it'll be the final Ben flashback story - there have been too many mentions/hints about her for Annie to be dropped entirely.

There might've been an incident, but basically we know that Widmore was kicked off because of Ben - he used Widmore getting married off-island and having kids as an excuse - whatever actually happened during the 80s I think might just be too much junk to delve into at this point. But who knows, I'm still dying for a full Libby episode.

Richard or Ben said there was another group of Others hanging out at the Temple, I suspect they'll get to this as well.

Jen Chaney: I think Aaron will be significant, for sure. Actually, I thought he was fairly significant in season five. Kate's decision to leave him with his grandmother was one of the more emotionally wrenching (and memorable) moments of S5, I thought.

Kevin Croy: I think he will be significant too. I suspect that we'll find out we've known Aaron the whole time as someone else.
