i feel like now that they've established a reality where lots of people are apparently born w/ different supernatural powers (Miles, Desmond, etc.) it doesn't seem nearly as likely that Walt is as central as he once seemed. which maybe they're doing on purpose.

Don't forget that the Others rejected Walt for whatever purpose they wanted him for (though tbh this development could've just been written into the show due to the actor's growth spurt), and that was as far back as season 2. They can easily write this off - Walt was just another kid of many that they did kidnap in the aftermath of the crash. Odd that pretty much all the kids were in the tail section, though. I'm sure there will be some kind of explanation - maybe unsatisfying - for why all the kids in 2004 were important.

Also, Claire is probably dead, right? Well... OK I'd say that if I didn't think she was coming back as a regular.

Of the chopper people who were selected and sent to the Island by Widmore/Abbadon we know that both Miles and Charlotte were born on the Island, Daniel was at least conceived on the Island and possibly born there as well, so I'd assume that means Lapidus was also an island baby? Actually I really want to know what Frank's deal is all round seeing as the Island clearly wants him for something.

Still watching season 5, and Jack still keeps on saying "that doesn't matter" to every question. And isn't even remotely curious about how or why he's landed in 1977. He really is the worst TV character ever written.

I want to know Cindy the Flight Attendant's story. How did she end up an Other? What happened to her between her going missing and turning up as nanny to (presumably) the taken children?

i think it's pretty fuckin' clever personally to include one new shot and make fans figure out what it is. also they've made noises about the promos including more and more new footage in the week or two leading up to the episode, so i assume that's just a first tentative step.

watching the start of S3 at the moment and the group of people that are 'the others' in last scenes of S5 seem entirely different to this group of people!

Right then. Suggestions for opening scene of s6? Each one has been pretty WTF?? so far.

i'm thinking it'll be on the island w/ some of the main characters but will be intentionally disorienting as to when or how or why the scene's taking place, or maybe less likely Alpert or Jacob in some ancient setting.

fairly certain it will involve an airplane and/or an airport and the survivors.

First scene is going to involve all of them on flight 815, including people like Charlie, shannon and boone. Then they hit some turbulence. But then everything straightens out and they land safely at LA X.

I think this will be a swerve though, like someone's dream or something, and they ultimately won't go with the reset. I think they will tease it though.
