That "new footage" is like a single frame of Claire holding a gun.
― President Keyes, Monday, 25 January 2010 14:47 (fourteen years ago) link
woah good spot. can't remember that happening before but seems stupid to include only one new shot if any.
― mdskltr (blueski), Monday, 25 January 2010 14:49 (fourteen years ago) link
Actually I really want to know what Frank's deal is all round seeing as the Island clearly wants him for something.
Maybe Jacob will be reborn into his body.
― President Keyes, Monday, 25 January 2010 14:54 (fourteen years ago) link
i think it's pretty fuckin' clever personally to include one new shot and make fans figure out what it is. also they've made noises about the promos including more and more new footage in the week or two leading up to the episode, so i assume that's just a first tentative step.

LOST character who you are most anxious to find out what the hell their deal is in season six
if you pause that youtube clip on 17 seconds...omg kate's mouth is enormous

With all the bomb resetting things and the premier happening on Feb 2nd, I'm hoping the new season will be a big homage to Bill Murray's "Groundhog Day".

Jack 1. Gather ingredients 2. Point gun at ingredients and shout “HOW DO I MAKE A SANDWICH OUT OF YOU?!?!?” 3. Breathe heavily through your nose as though you were about to hit ingredients 4. Give up and make the sandwich yourself, and eat it bitterly
ahhh ha ha hah, so true, they're leaving out
5. Writhe despondently and cry that the sandwich is gone
― Brakhage, Monday, 25 January 2010 19:02 (fourteen years ago) link
2. Call the sandwich “brother”
― max, Monday, 25 January 2010 20:05 (fourteen years ago) link
2 for Jack should be "make long passionate speech about the need for everyone to work together and make the sandwich"
― I see what this is (Local Garda), Monday, 25 January 2010 20:10 (fourteen years ago) link
2a. Be all adamant that there is only one way to make the sandwich right and tbh you'd disown your own father for making a sandwich in a way you didn't like (tho to be fair he was constantly putting down your sandwich-making in an incredibly annoying passive-aggressive manner)
4a. come to realise that your way of making sandwiches may have been completely wrong but it's okay as long as you still get to be in charge of making the fucking sandwich that nobody else wants to eat except kate who couldn't even spread the jam without spilling it everywhere, as if almost on purpose

Jack knows what happens next season, but that's not important right now:

watching the start of S3 at the moment and the group of people that are 'the others' in last scenes of S5 seem entirely different to this group of people!

Right then. Suggestions for opening scene of s6? Each one has been pretty WTF?? so far.
― Not the real Village People, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 03:41 (fourteen years ago) link
i'm thinking it'll be on the island w/ some of the main characters but will be intentionally disorienting as to when or how or why the scene's taking place, or maybe less likely Alpert or Jacob in some ancient setting.
― some dude, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 04:20 (fourteen years ago) link
fairly certain it will involve an airplane and/or an airport and the survivors.
― Clay, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 04:24 (fourteen years ago) link
a week from just about right now!
thinking the first scene will be underground, a hatch or something
― jeepski, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 04:25 (fourteen years ago) link
of course it will be somebody's eyeball opening as they wake up in some kind of super mundane, safe environment. probably not on the island... probably Jack.

First scene is going to involve all of them on flight 815, including people like Charlie, shannon and boone. Then they hit some turbulence. But then everything straightens out and they land safely at LA X.
I think this will be a swerve though, like someone's dream or something, and they ultimately won't go with the reset. I think they will tease it though.
― Mister Jim, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 18:59 (fourteen years ago) link
I dunno, the fact that the episode is titled "LA X" (and the airport is usually abbreviated as "LAX," no space) makes me think it's a red herring and there'll be no airport at all in it.
― some dude, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:03 (fourteen years ago) link

― super sexy psycho fantasy world (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:12 (fourteen years ago) link
first scene:
we open in the flight crew annex of the 747. the stewardess from the back of the plane and another flight attendant are talking about something while preparing lunch. the stewardess brings the cart up the aisle, and we pass by and linger on BOONE, CHARLIE, SHANNON, etc. stewardess gives food to various passengers, ends up at front of plane. knocks on door:
STEWARDESS: Captain, do you want some food?
CAPTAIN (through door): Yes, I'll have the carrots.
STEWARDESS OPENS DOOR
CAMERA PANS PAST STEWARDESS, UP THROUGH COCKPIT, TURNS AROUND TO FACE CAPTAIN.
CAPTAIN is HORSE.
CAPTAIN: Neiiigh.
― max, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:21 (fourteen years ago) link
Not just any horse. Kate's horse.
― Mister Jim, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:22 (fourteen years ago) link
and they're actually in kate's toy plane
― Freddy 'The Wonder Chicken' (Gukbe), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:23 (fourteen years ago) link
which is in aaron's room. and they're all tiny.
Seriously, if I were writing the show, I would tease like the whole first episode as a reset. Then have the final scene be something that would show them all back on the island as if a reset didn't happen at all, for the wtf cliffhanger.
We'll see what they actually do though.
x-post: LOL
― Mister Jim, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:25 (fourteen years ago) link
I can see how someone might see that as a stupid waste of time as well. But I kinda see it as a Last Temptation of Christ sort of thing. Like a vision that shows Jack why things would have been even worse if the plane didn't crash. That the world needs them to crash on that island.
― Mister Jim, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:34 (fourteen years ago) link
It's like the opposite of "It's A Wonderful Life."
― what of the fuck you talkie bout (Pancakes Hackman), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:40 (fourteen years ago) link
Cuse/Lindelof have made comments to the effect that they're not going to just hit the reset button, that they don't want to make it so all the dramatic moments you already saw didn't happen or don't matter anymore, but I could definitely see them teasing it in a way that it seems that's what they're doing.
― some dude, Wednesday, 27 January 2010 19:45 (fourteen years ago) link
what about having the returned characters actually acting like they're back from the dead, or aware of the moment they faced death and unable to recall anything since leaving to much freaking out/confusion...leading Jack and co to think 'oh shiiiii, Jacob if you fix this we promise to never leave"
― mdskltr (blueski), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 20:16 (fourteen years ago) link
If they made the dead characters into stealth zombies and the entire season was an extended chase/siege story I would lol heartily
― struck through in my prime (HI DERE), Wednesday, 27 January 2010 20:18 (fourteen years ago) link
