There's a splendid remainder bookstore in Leather Lane. You must, never, if you value your sanity, go there at lunchtime, though. Also I think it may have some slightly dodgy "titles" downstairs. Stacks of art, photography, travel, MEEJA and all that. And they play good music in there too. All round a pleasant non-lunchtime experience.

mmm, there's something for me to do this week! Man, I've been really bored today and didn't speak to anyone til about 7 o'clock apart from text messages! Still, the house is spotless and I have managed to downsize my wardrobe by about three t-shirts and a pair of knackered trousers, I had much higher ambitions than that though.

I've been progressively selling off vinyl, and the CDs (once I sort them) will be next. I have set myself the goal of reducing 8000 records & CDs to 5000 over the next year. It will be very fucking difficult..

Set aside some for me to look at when I get over to Australia...

OK. The CD part will be a lot easier, thanks to glorious CDR technologies...

And there ya go. Hey, those Lucksmiths albums I picked up were good fun, by the way. How come a certain Strathclyde outfit gets all the attention, dammit? I'll take these characters over B&S any day of the week.

Those Luckie boys get plenny of attention, believe me. Oddly enough they're HUGE in Scandinavia, among other places.

Indeed? Then I am happy. And actually not all that surprised, really.

i'm ultradownsized now! NO records. NO CDs. NO PC (and therefore NO audiogalaxy). NO stereo. NO books.

not gone forever though, back to my parents house. things are getting icky at home, in fact, i am approaching the status of NO HOME (for the 2nd time in 2 years! ha, at least i'm not in hospital at the same time this time - heh - hospital was my home last time around!)

gareth - is everything ok?

Queen G, Saturday, 6 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

apart from the 2 deaths, the pseudo-stalker, the ongoing 'situation of the heart', my dads illness, my parents financial problems, the impending homelessness, the threats from the landlord (ive been charged GBH you know?), and the virus ive downloaded which may have destroyed the last 2 years of my sisters university work, YES!

the above is said bemusedly, not snarkily;)

but not things are ok, my stuff is safe now, and my job is keeping things secure. i just need to find somewhere safe to live before i run out of patience with london altogether and move to manchester!!

well you know, everything doesn't necessarily mean everything...wish I could do something to help, take care ok?

Queen G, Saturday, 6 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

actually, i'm not completely downsized. i have ONE CD! my flatmate had borrowed it, so my cd collection is comprised entirely of depeche modes music for the masses
