Right then. Suggestions for opening scene of s6? Each one has been pretty WTF?? so far.

i'm thinking it'll be on the island w/ some of the main characters but will be intentionally disorienting as to when or how or why the scene's taking place, or maybe less likely Alpert or Jacob in some ancient setting.

fairly certain it will involve an airplane and/or an airport and the survivors.

thinking the first scene will be underground, a hatch or something

of course it will be somebody's eyeball opening as they wake up in some kind of super mundane, safe environment. probably not on the island... probably Jack.

First scene is going to involve all of them on flight 815, including people like Charlie, shannon and boone. Then they hit some turbulence. But then everything straightens out and they land safely at LA X.

I think this will be a swerve though, like someone's dream or something, and they ultimately won't go with the reset. I think they will tease it though.

I dunno, the fact that the episode is titled "LA X" (and the airport is usually abbreviated as "LAX," no space) makes me think it's a red herring and there'll be no airport at all in it.

first scene:

we open in the flight crew annex of the 747. the stewardess from the back of the plane and another flight attendant are talking about something while preparing lunch. the stewardess brings the cart up the aisle, and we pass by and linger on BOONE, CHARLIE, SHANNON, etc. stewardess gives food to various passengers, ends up at front of plane. knocks on door:

STEWARDESS: Captain, do you want some food?

CAPTAIN (through door): Yes, I'll have the carrots.

STEWARDESS OPENS DOOR

CAMERA PANS PAST STEWARDESS, UP THROUGH COCKPIT, TURNS AROUND TO FACE CAPTAIN.

CAPTAIN is HORSE.

CAPTAIN: Neiiigh.

Not just any horse. Kate's horse.

and they're actually in kate's toy plane

which is in aaron's room. and they're all tiny.

Seriously, if I were writing the show, I would tease like the whole first episode as a reset. Then have the final scene be something that would show them all back on the island as if a reset didn't happen at all, for the wtf cliffhanger.

We'll see what they actually do though.

I can see how someone might see that as a stupid waste of time as well. But I kinda see it as a Last Temptation of Christ sort of thing. Like a vision that shows Jack why things would have been even worse if the plane didn't crash. That the world needs them to crash on that island.

It's like the opposite of "It's A Wonderful Life."

Cuse/Lindelof have made comments to the effect that they're not going to just hit the reset button, that they don't want to make it so all the dramatic moments you already saw didn't happen or don't matter anymore, but I could definitely see them teasing it in a way that it seems that's what they're doing.

what about having the returned characters actually acting like they're back from the dead, or aware of the moment they faced death and unable to recall anything since leaving to much freaking out/confusion...leading Jack and co to think 'oh shiiiii, Jacob if you fix this we promise to never leave"

If they made the dead characters into stealth zombies and the entire season was an extended chase/siege story I would lol heartily

OK I know someone who's started watching ALL OF IT for the first time... this week. With the aim of going straight into s6 on Tues. I think they're halfway thru season 1 already. And they are blogging it!

my brother gave me seasons 1-4 on DVD two Xmases ago and I binged on those in the space of the month or two before season 5 started. it's a good way to consume the show, the episodes where nothing 'happens' go down a lot easier when you don't have to wait a week in between.

So Tuesday night is three hours? I've looked and looked but haven't found confirmation that hour 1 will be a re-cap. Please tell me that's the case. I can't get to TV until like 8:45. Thxbye.

According to the TitanTV listing, 8pm is a recap, 9pm is a 2-part premiere (LA X pts 1 and 2)

I have my parents visiting so will need an excuse to watch it in peace, preferably not too long after it's on as I won't be able to stand the suspense.

Seems like Jack is maybe experiencing deja vu right? Would be interesting if these were like the flashes Desmond had after the Hatch exploded, where some of the characters have the consciousness of what happened during the first five seasons.
