Are you sure about this, Dan? I have never, ever seen a G train at Roosevelt, I think it is only supposed to be there at some weird hour.

regular G service through Queens would be nice - you could live cheap up there and still see your friends in now -shockingly expensive Greenpoint.

expanding the G further into brooklyn WHEN? All I saw was some vague promise. It would make my life easier, esp on weekends.

y'know, i was a little underwhelmed by tacos matamoros. got to find something better down there, i'm sure it exists.

there is one classic thread on the P Heights board called something like "Strange Beeping Sound??!?!?!"

over the course of weeks all these people are like "I hear it too what is it?" "a beep that sounds every 30 seconds" "I can't tell where it's coming from"

someone figures out that all the smoke detectors in some massive residential bldg are out of batteries and beeping in unison on every floor

sanskrit, it's not quite in sunset park but the place on 5th ave & 21st street that is a 24 hour mexican bakery has excellent chicken tacos, tinga stylee.

you know, the foodies don't have to take over EVERY thread.

mike, i think so. the spanish american restaurant place? i used to live around the corner from there (14th between 6th & 7th) but only ate there once or twice, did not have pernil.

(speaking of pernil, sucelt on 14th st and 7th ave in the city is closing on xmas eve. go now to experience their cubano while you still can!)

i don't have an opinion on train eating. i've done it. not like, full meals but cookies and snacks.

i got reallly dirty looks from a bunch of people on the j train once for having a take-out container of pies n thighs fried chicken. it made the whole car stink! i wasn't eating it tho.

i think you are confusing dirty looks with jealous looks.

fried chicken odor was probably a huge improvement over normal j train odor.

yes, it's an intrusion on my personal space, which I realize is a quaint notion that will be buried by the enabled phone yakkers underground in another 2 years.

also, if you SPILL food on me on train, I shoot.

my favorite is seeing people (mostly teenagers) spilling a soda/coffee/whatever and promptly moving on to the next car.

so the issue isn't with the eating, it is with the slobs. i get it.

i personally don't eat on the trains, as i stated above, because i feel like it attracts attention and i don't like people lookin at me.

no the issue is intrusion into personal space. the proper response to food smells on public transit is to ask if you can have some too.
