Hello the gays, I am interviewing a certain figure skater for my fashion magazine tomorrow - any (genuine) questions y'all want me to put to this person? SO EXCITED.

Also, Lex, which source has dried up? Blaaaah.

i've always wanted to know how much input skaters have into their costume design! or on another note i'd like to see more quotes from him along those "if football/hockey players did what i did for a day, they'd cry" lines - stuff emphasising his tuffness.

(my old employers, who i'd continued freelancing for; it's not really a surprise given their decreasing commitment to the project but blahhh. now i have to work out how much money they owe me.)

Oh don't worry, we are after skater biyatch realness in this interview and we will surely get it (he designs those onesies himself but wants to go to FIT when skating is over, my job is to convince him of St Martins).

ned ragú (suzy), Wednesday, 17 March 2010 21:02 (fourteen years ago) link

speaking of gay skaters, Brian Boitano's cooking sucks.

The Magnificent Colin Firth (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 17 March 2010 21:03 (fourteen years ago) link

NOOO he should go to FIT because it's easier for me to stalk him there i hear they have like a really good program and stuff

The white elephant is, in this case, blocking view of a few dozen baby elephants.

queen frostine (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 March 2010 02:18 (fourteen years ago) link

Correct, Plax! Interview in 20 but did not want to name names, thought gays dem would guess anyway. Speaking of the gift of innuendo, some of these questions are going to be fun.

Hedda Lettuce is 'presenting' Showgirls at Chelsea Cinemas tonight. I think I'll be at a 3-hour Chinese documentary.

Fusty Moralizer (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 18 March 2010 19:36 (fourteen years ago) link

"bloody" is an accurate word

queen frostine (Eric H.), Thursday, 18 March 2010 20:02 (fourteen years ago) link

The Magnificent Colin Firth (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 March 2010 19:01 (fourteen years ago) link

xp NICE!!! What are your must-play tracks?

I wrote a paper on Showgirls last spring and lost it (v agonizing!) and then JUST FOUND IT AGAIN TWO DAYS AGO!!! It was on a thumb drive I'd left at my mother's house. I am excited beyond belief.

gabourey voltaire (Stevie D), Saturday, 20 March 2010 15:48 (fourteen years ago) link

Still have a copy of a paper I wrote in college about Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Last time I read it nearly inspired me to toss it.

queen frostine (Eric H.), Saturday, 20 March 2010 15:50 (fourteen years ago) link

I've never felt any other way when rereading papers I've written. Can we swap?

gabourey voltaire (Stevie D), Saturday, 20 March 2010 15:53 (fourteen years ago) link

Haha, I only have the printed copy, but I can scan it if I remember at work.

queen frostine (Eric H.), Saturday, 20 March 2010 19:19 (fourteen years ago) link

You KNOW I'm down!

gabourey voltaire (Stevie D), Sunday, 21 March 2010 05:34 (fourteen years ago) link

I remember when college papers used to be about real things, like Shaw or Nathanael West. (maybe those were just mine)

I should be around, e a!

lols love A&F

big (surm), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:01 (fourteen years ago) link

Their clothes only fit a certain body type well and I am not that body type. All Sm/Med shirts I've ever tried to wear from them are too short on the torso. Constantly pulling down on them like a fat girl tugging on a sweater.

queen frostine (Eric H.), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:05 (fourteen years ago) link

they do cut it short on the torso, but sometimes that boxy thing they do with their sweaters works for me. if i want to feel like i'm about to go the diner after my lacross game, that is.

big (surm), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:06 (fourteen years ago) link

dunno, a&f / american eagle / hollister apparel is useful for identifying fags to avoid imo

elmo leonard (elmo argonaut), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:08 (fourteen years ago) link

also let's not forget that the a&f magalog was some serious spank material in its day

elmo leonard (elmo argonaut), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:09 (fourteen years ago) link

lol. well obv im not totin a&f / american eagle labels all over town. i don't even own anything from there but look, i grew up in a waspy village on long island so i gotta rep

big (surm), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:12 (fourteen years ago) link

it's weird when i visit st louis and that's like ... what the bois seem to wear :(

big (surm), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:13 (fourteen years ago) link

So you grew up with real, old-school A&F like the hippo balanced upon by this young lady?

yeah ditto! giant-ass logos can fuck off as well. this makes buying clothes more difficult than it should be. small eg lacoste logo is about as far as i'll go.

a&f obv codes differently in the US but the boys in their adverts are 99% total ws

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:44 (fourteen years ago) link

OK, any label that wasn't "rebranded" since my birth is fine.

Are there really adults who wear A&F? Though the guy I'm dating wears GAP of all things... Maybe we'll go on a trip together to Old Navy and pick out matching fleece garbage bags, or whatever their clothing is supposed to be.

Spectrum, Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:46 (fourteen years ago) link

i'v been levis crazy lately

big (surm), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:46 (fourteen years ago) link

can't buy anything from gap anymore. i've been scarred from jr high.

big (surm), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:47 (fourteen years ago) link

Ugh, Old Navy. The worst.

queen frostine (Eric H.), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:55 (fourteen years ago) link

instead of receiving underwear and sock, i now receive old navy gift cards from parents every christmas. so i use then to restock underwear and socks. plus ca change...

elmo leonard (elmo argonaut), Tuesday, 23 March 2010 17:04 (fourteen years ago) link

I won't wear Converse: college classmate scion of that family was a douchenozzle and I decided then I would not subsidize. Nor any of the Ralph Lauren family or any rebooted brand that makes the logo bigger in relaunch. I am going to be having a crisis moment with Fred Perry when they do this.

Lacoste, yes; Brooks Brothers, yes; Orvis, yes. Would be fun if Londoners discovered Orvis snakeproof boots, the shop is opposite APC and DSM so it could be only a matter of time.
