is next week better or not an option?

tehresa, Tuesday, 23 March 2010 20:45 (fourteen years ago) link

I can't this week, but could next week!

Jaq, Tuesday, 23 March 2010 20:47 (fourteen years ago) link

I could do Monday night quiz next week.

kate78, Tuesday, 23 March 2010 21:59 (fourteen years ago) link

hmm the monday night place was so icky though! also the tab is for ozzie's...
i am interested in doing non-quiz things, too, if anyone wants to just go somewhere for food and or drinks whenever.

tehresa, Tuesday, 23 March 2010 22:18 (fourteen years ago) link

Oh hello, I will be in Seattle this weekend. *_*

The Reverend, Wednesday, 24 March 2010 04:37 (fourteen years ago) link

You any good at quiz?

kate78, Wednesday, 24 March 2010 04:46 (fourteen years ago) link

When I used to go to quiz night with my fam, we would invariably take 2nd place. Then again, everyone other than my dad and I were useless.

The Reverend, Wednesday, 24 March 2010 04:56 (fourteen years ago) link

So yes, I know lots of random shit.

The Reverend, Wednesday, 24 March 2010 04:56 (fourteen years ago) link

tehresa, Thursday, 25 March 2010 06:36 (fourteen years ago) link

i know you are this weekend but i was saying next bc higgs is out of town this weekend.
i think i am going to talcum sat night - you could probably sleep on air mattress if you go to that.

tehresa, Thursday, 25 March 2010 06:45 (fourteen years ago) link

I'm booked through the end of the month now...will know more about April tomorrow, and would love to fap on 2nd or 3rd if I can.

kate78, Thursday, 25 March 2010 07:15 (fourteen years ago) link

the real dangers horses in black neighborhoods face (The Reverend), Thursday, 25 March 2010 07:39 (fourteen years ago) link

Sorry to miss rodney visit! I'll be in LA (so far I've pulled my suitcase down on top of my head and packed my swimsuit) until Tuesday PM - you're going back Sunday?
Theresa -I've heard the Lake Quinault Lodge is nice. I stayed in a snooty B&B in Port Angeles when I did the loop, don't do that.

the higgs, Thursday, 25 March 2010 07:47 (fourteen years ago) link

oh i was just thinking of a day trip - is that too ambitious?

tehresa, Thursday, 25 March 2010 07:48 (fourteen years ago) link

Yes, I really think so. It's not a quick drive and you need to plan for the time that you'll actually be there, you know, enjoying the moss and whatnot.

the higgs, Thursday, 25 March 2010 07:59 (fourteen years ago) link

especially the whatnot.

kate78, Thursday, 25 March 2010 16:09 (fourteen years ago) link

stoked about the moss tho

tehresa, Thursday, 25 March 2010 19:59 (fourteen years ago) link

I've stayed at the Rainforest Village (near the Quinault Lodge, less $$) twice and in the cabins at Kalaloch (usually all booked up months and months in advance, but sometimes there's a cancellation). There's a hostel fairly close to the Hoh that friends have stayed at that is not bad. There are no doubt a ton of B&B options in Forks - I rented a house there for a weekend in the off-season a few years ago, though prices have probably gone up now that Twilight has taken over the town. I'd definitely stay at least one night - there's so much to see. If you can get to Ruby beach at low tide, the tidepools are amazing. I've seen sea otters there more than once too, romping around the seastacks. Definitely do the Hall of Mosses trail in the Hoh - it's under 1 mile but has some amazing stuff in that short distance.

Jaq, Thursday, 25 March 2010 20:10 (fourteen years ago) link

don't u mean:

stoked for the moss :D:D:D:D:D

stephen juaquin (The Reverend), Friday, 26 March 2010 04:07 (fourteen years ago) link

stoked for the mossness iirc

tehresa, Friday, 26 March 2010 06:43 (fourteen years ago) link

Missed my train. :(

stephen juaquin (The Reverend), Saturday, 27 March 2010 03:16 (fourteen years ago) link

hey guys let's fap - fri or sat?

tehresa, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 00:39 (fourteen years ago) link

I can do Friday!

kate78, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 00:59 (fourteen years ago) link

yay! i was thinking of the hideout because i like it and i have not been there since i was here last march! it's big and could fit people, i think. or we could go someplace less 'nice' (though i think they have some cheap drink specials).

tehresa, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 01:04 (fourteen years ago) link

just tell me when and where to show up! Everybody else, jump in!

kate78, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 01:05 (fourteen years ago) link

hey seattle what is a bar i could go hang out at for happy hour with free wifi so i can plan my rain forest excursion?

tehresa, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 20:10 (fourteen years ago) link

The Spectator on lower QA? Or Buckley's maybe (west of Key Arena - on Harrison?)

Jaq, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 20:29 (fourteen years ago) link

hmmm maybe nicer. does the sitting room or solo have wifi? i wonder if bricco does...

anyway... next request: moving companies? i need labor only... the ppl i wanted now can not come at the time i need them :(

tehresa, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 22:44 (fourteen years ago) link

I've used Nice Moves for our last 3 moves, highly recommended.

Jaq, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 22:56 (fourteen years ago) link

Where do you have to set the pod? b/c I would not want to be carrying stuff up or down that hill! I guess you can't block the sidewalk or the street there though.

Jaq, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 22:59 (fourteen years ago) link

ooh dude on phone was v v nice. thanks, jaq! you are always the best source of info!
the pod will go in my driveway. with dolly i think it would be fine. or they can go out the basement steps.

tehresa, Tuesday, 30 March 2010 23:12 (fourteen years ago) link

y'allllll

in case you didn't get my email or something: 7ish at the hideout tonight. come at your leisure.

tehresa, Friday, 2 April 2010 22:56 (fourteen years ago) link

I'll be there by 7:30 or so. Maybe try for the big sofa thingy?

the higgs, Friday, 2 April 2010 23:51 (fourteen years ago) link

Mr Jaq and I will be there, probably 7:30ish though.

Jaq, Saturday, 3 April 2010 00:20 (fourteen years ago) link

the nation's most diverse zip code is right the fuck here yall

est 2010 (rahni), Tuesday, 13 April 2010 18:57 (fourteen years ago) link

I've been focusing in that zip code as our next potential place to live (July eta).

Jaq, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 19:13 (fourteen years ago) link

Jaq, you FOOL, you're going to leave your KITCHEN?

Beacon Hill is not a livable neighborhood. Rainier valley isn't any better. Houses are as cheap as they get in Seattle, but you're stuck driving everywhere and crime stats are way up in those areas. I'd never move south of Cherry. Diversity doesn't mean shit when there are no good grocery stores, cafes, record shops, book stores etc.etc.etc.

brotherlovesdub, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 19:28 (fourteen years ago) link

damn u sound hell of snobbish plz stay north of cherry

est 2010 (rahni), Tuesday, 13 April 2010 19:34 (fourteen years ago) link

and stuck driving everywhere? what are you talking about, light rail runs right through and there are lots of buses. beacon hill and rainier valley are far MORE accessible than other neighborhoods.

est 2010 (rahni), Tuesday, 13 April 2010 19:35 (fourteen years ago) link

no shit. After living in New Holly through all that light rail construction on MLK, I want to move back down there and actually ride the thing on the regular. It adds less than 15 minutes to my commute to Redmond from the Othello station. It's also a simple commute for Mr. Jaq to Sodo/near west Seattle via train/bike (or bus).

I will say that the area immediately around the Mt. Baker station is not a good neighborhood, but has the unparalleled Water Wizard 2.0 car wash and Mutual Fish and Remo Borrachini's bakery. The neighborhood around the Beacon Hill station is fantastic though - so much good food and the library etc etc etc.

Laurel will ysi or transporter it asap.

Jaq, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:00 (fourteen years ago) link

Georgetown is also a strong possibility btw.

Jaq, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:08 (fourteen years ago) link

If I want inaccessible and have to drive everywhere lifestyle, I will move to Magnolia.

Jaq, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:11 (fourteen years ago) link

The neighborhood around the Beacon Hill station is fantastic though

srsly. we are looking there again. a combination mexican/chinese grocery store? multiple philipino restaurants? the fruit market on 15th ave s? light rail and library. a couple miles from downtown, close to little saigon and the ID, and a 20 minute train ride to the airport. not much else i care about. i'm not a whole foods guy. i buy my books online (;_; if u must). maybe capitol hill and downtown and u-dist have more of everything nearby, but i can't afford the first two and fuck that last one. beacon hill is great. and don't get me started on my love of georgetown.

est 2010 (rahni), Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:12 (fourteen years ago) link

There's a great mexican place next to the philipino place that is <something> Kitchen - it has huaraches, which you just don't get at the typical Seattle mexican place. Also, Willie's Taste of Soul BBQ is so so good, is now down the hill on the Rainier side somewhere, used to be more down toward New Holly.

Jaq, Tuesday, 13 April 2010 20:28 (fourteen years ago) link

Not trying to be 'hell of snobbish', just stating my preference to pay rent somewhere livable vs. buy property in a neighborhood i've lived in before and absolutely hated.
