I just discovered that you can get her complete show EVERY DAY as a podcast -- it means I'm always one day behind but I don't care, The Rachel Maddow show is changing my life.

She was rocking Adidas Sambas on the Colbert Report!
She is so freaking cuets. John and I would both marry her. You know, another wedding reception wherein Rachel marries both of us with the power of our Subgenius reverend best buddy who married both of us.

She's been sounding sick since her Monday broadcast! Even huskier than usual. I haven't seen the show in a couple of days, I was wondering just HOW sick you have to be to let someone else anchor your show.

Her end-of-2008 awards show was great!
I want her to do a movie: "Pat Buchanan: My Best Fiend." Herzog cld direct, why not.

Ha I thought x months pass was a cute thing for the Rachel thread BUT it looks like an awesome new board-wide thing

I prefer her bemusement to everyone else's explosive rooster-chested name-calling gambits. She's a smart, polite lady and I just think she's great.

Alison Stewart's been kicking around MSNBC for years, and is married to Bill Wolff (the veep of news programming)...not saying that's the reason they keep her around, because she's awesome in her own right.

I think Maddow could cut out the mugging a little. (We already have a Daily Show.) And she could break from the blogpack a little more than she does.
I mean, she is great, obviously, but her show doesn't quite feel indispensable yet.

I like what a hard-ass she is about her mixing rules!
I don't know why I'm surprised that she dresses that way, but I am.
― Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 8 July 2009 01:31 (fourteen years ago) link
i like how insistent she is on wearing her glasses everywhere but in her msnbc gig. like, she's willing to cute it up for the day job, but that's it. she dresses way more butch in all other settings than on her show, which i'm guessing is just how she likes to dress.

She was talking about 'disambiguation' and read an example of a wikipedia disambiguation page. When she said 'Mr. Bungle song,' she made an aside that the song was 'not one of their better efforts.' I wish I remembered what one it was.

John Ensign’s parents dished 96 grand to his girl friend and her family. Yes, that’s a real news story. But how big a news story should it be? Consider three separate news judgments: Washington Post: In this morning’s Post, it gets 576 words, a banner headline across the top of page A6 and a small photo. (“Ensign’s Parents Made Payments to Mistress, Her Family.” Click here.) New York Times: In this morning’s Times, it gets 448 words at the bottom of page A15. (“Senator’s Parents Gave Mistress Thousands.” Click here.)That’s how it played in the Post and the Times. And on last night’s Rachel Maddow Show, it swallowed the whole first half-hour. The previous evening, Rachel read Ensign’s love letter aloud.Taking just a small step back, this helps explain why you (probably) won’t get real health reform this year. This helps explain why corporate interests will be happy -- again -- with this year's outcome.

At 8 PM, 3.3 million watched O’Reilly’s live broadcast. At that same hour, 1.3 million watched Harris-Lacewell [on the Maddow Show] evaluate Jenny Sanford’s moves--and discuss why she herself is able to endorse her own current love interest.Do those numbers help explain why Maddow talked sexy-time sex all last night? We don’t know, but one thing is clear:You’ll hear about health care reform on her program as soon as some big Republican player gets involved in a sex scandal. Chuck Grassley! Please! Get it on!
