Gays, I love you all so much that I've uploaded Dajae's album Higher Power which took me weeks to find on Soulseek. It's the perfect intersection of piano-driven instrumentals and sassy diva vocals that Cajual seems to be so good at, and it has ZERO FILLER-Y BALLADS that plague so many full-length house LPs. Pretty much all of these songs are strong enough to be singles. It's really good and the LP edits of "U Got Me Up" and "Brighter Days" are surprisingly great.

I used to spin the fuck out of "U Got Me Up." In fact, I would weave it in and out of other tracks just cuz I loved the vocal so much (although people would get pissed cuz they thought they'd be hearing it next "U Got Me Up).

Someone did that in a set once with "I Can't Get No Sleep" and I got way pissed at him for just layering the vocal in and not playing any of MAW's instrumentation.

Thanx Stevie D for the Dajae shit. Never heard the full-length. Pretty solid. But those Cajmere remixes are the real prizes. I remember a house party where people lost their SHIT to "U Got Me Up [Cajmere's Underground Goodies Mix]." And "Brighter Days [Cajmere's Underground Goodies Mix]" is EXACTLY what I require from dance music - screaming divas repeating over a ok-i'ma-vogue-right-NOW-watch-me-GO beat. And though I cannot sing, that doesn't stop me from annoying the cats with VERY loud chants of "Lift me up Pick me up Oh won't you Lift me up Pick me up Oh won't you Lift me up Pick me up Oh won't you..."
