Wait wasn't he mad at her?
Falk's mom says that when their daughter streaks through the living room after the "Swan Lake" yard party.

'army of shadows' and 'spirit of the beehive' are two of the most overrated movies ever.

spirit of the beehive compared to what, e.t. the extraterrestrial?

We thought you knew already! ;-)
I picked up on a payday and finally watched it a few weeks ago. Pretty spiffy presentation. It's good to see Criterion getting around to some of the major canonical stuff (Bicycle Thieves, the upcoming issues ofBreathless and Days of Heaven) that's thus far escaped their net. Could bode well for stuff like Open City.

starting with a handful of Arturo Ripstein films?
I've never understood the Days of Heaven love, cept for Almendros.

I have a total of $55 in my wallet and had resolved to stop buying DVDs completely. Do I eat sammiches for a while and buy The Bicycle Thieves... or do I go without.
