Have you even watched Scrappy Doo as an adult in the context of "okay, this is a children's show whose audience is children"? Or are you guys just traumatized by things changing when you were kids? Scrappy's an outstanding role model.
as a role model, Scrappy tells kids "just show up to a party where you weren't invited & nobody wanted you & tell a bunch of jokes nobody's even trying to hear because prior to your arrival they'd just been getting high and talking about ghosts instead of being goal-oriented go-getter types who when they've grown up will use phrases like 'moving forward' in actual conversation"
Scrappy Doo comes near my kids & it's a quick trip to the Humane Society for Scrappy, I'll tell you that much

Particularly in the Scooby Doo tv movies from the late 80s, Scrappy is great at identifying evidence and then using rational thought to interpret that evidence. He does this out loud for the audience, in real time, so kids can sort of see the process that someone would go through to solve a mystery to an extent that isn't nearly as evident in the early TV shows.

I disagree. I think that kids will better learn to solve problems by examining the evidence in real time, rather than going back and being all "oh, look what they did there."

Going back and being all "look what they did there" means they work out the show's formula and then start looking for clues themselves in following episode rather than being spoon-fed "THIS IS A CLUE!" by Scrappy, leading to improved mystery solving skills in later life.

Most kids need a sign flashing above the clue.
they don't, actually, imo. most kids are a lot smarter than adults give them credit for. scrappy doo is adult writers condescending very badly to kids, which is why most kids (now grown ups on this thread) instinctively went "fuck this, give me back my somewhat lame but mainly cool mystery cartoon"

I'll give you this. I was being a little inflammatory*. I think kids need a little bit of walking through processes and a lot of room to explore. Scrappy's really good at the latter.
*I am largely just being a little inflammatory here, on this parody thread, which is not even about Scrappy Doo. It's about Goofy. Remember Goofy?

scooby-doo is so fucking bad, like even little kids can tell it sucks and is boring, a pup named scooby-doo is the only incarnation that is not just hateful towards its audience in its shittiness and ugliness and so imo focusing on scrappy as a problem is kind of a red herring (!)
