^^^big adjustment, mentally. even though i'm only a year or two older than most of them, and going back to school in the fall, i feel weird/sketchy hitting on undergrads.

I have "seen" people both older and younger than me. I don't think any of their ages shared a tens digit with mine tbh. OMG can we talk about biggest age difference or is that just Too Much for an internet message board?

I've always dated older guys. My first boyfriend was 27 and I was 18. My second boyfriend (who I am still with) was 27 and I was 20. The seven year difference felt huge at the time, and now that he is 45 and I'm 38 and we are still together it has softened somewhat, though standing on either side of 40 is a big psychological difference between us, I think. But lately I have, er, hooked up with some younger guys (20-22) in ways that were definitely mutual and definitely fun for both parties, and the heat of those experiences was certainly drawing on the generation gap power dynamic asit passed back and forth. I think that while it can lead to major fun in the bedroom, I honestly don't feel that I could have a 20 year old boyfriend as a 38 year old without it being pretty awkward. It would just be too weird. I guess Christopher Isherwood pulled it off with his partner, but it seems like an anomaly. But maybe that's conservative of me?

i don't know how old he was, but i'd guess somewhere in his upper 50s. which would be more than twenty years. but he was in shape, and an architect, so...

I think bleach blonde hair is at it's best when it is three weeks grown out with super dark roots, that to me = punk. But when you do it the first time, you gotta but "blue-ing" in there or it turns out orange and kinda raunchy- you must suffer a bit and feel like your scalp is a frying pan or it's not really working.

i bleached my hair a bunch as a kid -- my parents were always participants too, weirdly enough

"blue-ing" is like this extra creamy blue-ish white goo that you mix in during the bleaching process that counteracts the red/orange tints that are inside black and brown hair- ask yr hairstylist about it, of whoever works at a beauty supply store, they'll know the deal. It's the only way to get a white-blonde look.

And yeah, bleaching your hair fucks up and kills your hair and kind of hurts yr scalp. I've never heard that it is linked to baldness though, or root damage. But I'm no expert.

btw i'm using bleach as a synonym for "dying yellow" -- not actual bleach

One May exactly ten years ago a friend and I allowed a stoned girlfriend to dye our hair; she forgot to put the color in and my hair was henna-colored for five months. My horrified parents, with whom I still lived, insisted on a haircut. I looked like Eminem for a while, which made sense ("The Real Slim Shady" had just blown up).
