I totally just googled something like "escanaba + marquette + saginaw + chicago + street + names." There's a book at the Chicago Historical Museum, too, that has a lot of the same info, including the fact that no one knows the origin of Agatite Ave.

we just cancelled with comcast after their repair dude stood us up AGAIN today (he turned up an hour early, didn't call, and when we weren't there just left. asshole). so i spent an hour on the phone with various people in their 'escalation department', and the upside is that RCN is coming on tuesday to connect (only 24 hours after comcast would next be able to send someone out), and we get $50 for our troubles.

we're going to see the sea and cake tonight at the metro. woo.

There is at least a precedent with the streets of north of Andersonville being named after Philadelphia suburbs -- Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Hollywood -- owing to the fact that the guy who developed the neighborhood around the turn of the century was from Philadelphia.

Things I did not get in the mail today:

- A check from Publisher's Clearing House
- A Land's End catalog
- My bar results

I'm okay though, because I drank five beers at Exchequer with Emily before I came home.
