I don't feel sorry for her at all. Choices have consequences; if you don't want to deal with the consequences, don't make the choice. Besides, perhaps now she's hit rock bottom and will make some positive steps towards reclaiming her life and her career.

Paris Hilton was IMMENSELY more tolerable after she went to jail. I hope the same thing happens to Linsday.

you think so? every time i see a story like this i think about putting money on lohan winning an oscar within 10 years. even now i sense a residual sympathy for her, people really wanting her to get her shit together. the narrative is more "she's squandering her talent" than "she never had any talent".

I feel sorry for LL to the extent that I feel sorry for anyone who wasn't raised very well and then runs face-first into laws and societal mores in young adulthood. Some people learn from it, some don't, none of them should get free passes or "oh that Lindsey, she's really keepin' it real," but the parent(s) deserve their own special punch in the face as much as the kids.

LL has certainly picked more than 1 good script, depending on your definition of "good." I have thoroughly enjoyed at least 3 of her movies, and I am dead-set on Inferno being a stone-cold classic. I think it's very early to posit that her career is over. It all depends on whether or not she can act like a person with brains, and on whether or not she can pick good roles. If she isn't a total fuck-up, she'll make the most out of Linda Lovelace and give everyone the fuck-you/fuck-me performance of her life.

Also, all of the LL press of the last number of years, including this jail sentence, may be detrimental to her career at this time, but it is the stuff of legends that might actually prove beneficial to her BO bankability at some point in the future. I think she is sort of capitalizing on it with the decision to make a movie about an infamous porn star of completely demented proportions. I mean, fuck, I'll buy the ticket, and I know plenty of people who will as well.

I worked on a TV show with several insane substance-abusers-to-the-point-of-often-not-being-able-to-do-their-jobs actors and all I can say is that it made the crew really, really bitter.

people are never going to like her again because shes not that good or charismatic an actress. what rdj has going for him isnt the fucked up backstory, its that hes a likable, talented actor

lindsay was pretty cute, but shes turned in basically one engaging performance, on the back of a pretty good script with a great supporting cast.

don't think there's enough evidence either way here. she isn't the best thing in 'mean girls' (i.e. rachel mcadams) but is still very good. n e ways, i don't think you can predict. i've never liked drew barrymore in anything but she pulled it off.

Are you talking about Mean Girls, Max? Cuz she also turned on the same sort of charm in Freaky Friday and Just My Luck. And in the Altman, I thought she was pretty great at playing a confused, bitchy teenager (or, herself).

Drew Barrymore comes across as nice, though.
