A woman asked Stevie if he'd like to work at Fox News. And told me I looked like Steven Spielberg...?

Tom Hardy:
Of course I have [had sex with men]. I'm an actor for fuck's sake. I've played with everything and everyone. I love the form and the physicality, but now that I'm in my thirties, it doesn't do it for me. I'm done experimenting but there's plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine.

corey, i wrote about Mr. G (album snippets here, "Blessed" is a perfect track imo: http://www.beatportal.com/feed/item/album-of-the-week-mr-g-still-here-get-on-down/) and the new album by Justin K Broadrick of Godflesh and Techno Animal fame.
and morbz, i actually have a part-time gig now, doing social media and marketing for this company: http://fluffyco.com/shop/index.php

oh and hey, my favorite songs to do at karaoke are "Touch Me" by the Doors, "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak.
probably one of my favorite moments in a karaoke bar ever happened when these two FIERCE queens did an amazing rendition of Klymaxx's "Meeting in the Ladies Room."

my favorite song to sing at karaoke is minnie riperton's "loving you" but I'll only sing it once at one place because i don't want to become known as the guy who always sings "loving you"
― run (The Reverend), Thursday, 29 July 2010 21:58 (fourteen years ago) link
in my first year in college ppl used to sporadically start singing that in class sometimes.
it was a thing

loving you? that's tough. do you do falsetto?
― jed_, Thursday, 29 July 2010 22:16 (fourteen years ago) link
you can do the karaoke-mid-line-octave-drop and its fine
― plax (ico), Thursday, 29 July 2010 22:20 (fourteen years ago) link
i've probably done just that.
i actually have never sung karaoke in a bar just at house parties. i tend to do "wichita lineman" or the tamperer's "feel it" because i like to sing the chimney line. my preferred song would be sinatra's "french foreign legion" but i've never found it on the machine thing.

I did "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" and The Killers' "Human" at karaoke a few weeks ago.

I don't see the point of karaoke if you don't know the script -- it's like acting. Staring frozen at the monitor -- like these lame chicks singing "Hot Summer Nights" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" for the first time -- is beyond offensive.
― balls and adieu (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 29 July 2010 22:47 (fourteen years ago) link
right? spielberg lady last night was a whole measure behind on her song (i forget what it was) and it was just like 'man, c'mon with this'
― the numbing/spicy queen of the conservative band (donna rouge), Thursday, 29 July 2010 22:51 (fourteen years ago) link
yeah but the worst thing about Karaoke is the people who do it all the time and are really good at it. I'd rather see a frozen chick than some Karaoke expert.

picking a karaoke song is prolly like deciding on a tattoo, it has to declare something definite abt you and i'm not ready for that kind of commitment. also i dont want to sing in front of ppl
― plax (ico), Thursday, 29 July 2010 22:53 (fourteen years ago) link
that song is hard! i crashed and burned on it at karaoke one time
xp about careless whisper
