Er1c is a boy that I met at a music festival last Saturday (specifically at Robyn's set but whatever). He's nice - maybe a little too nice - and his music tastes are too PopJusticey for life, but he's good people, and he's cute, so we'll see what happens.

I dunno. I occasionally meet these charming and cute 19 year olds who are very very 19 re: perspective, headspace viz life, and to make an issue of that would be condescending, but at the same time it's something that is there in the back of my head.

It's tricky, because you can't presume to know where they stand on things or what they're looking for out of yr interactions but at the same time there are SIGNS. part of me says 'you are not responsible for other people's uncommunicated expectations' and part of me says 'do no harm' and part of me thinks that assuming he's as young&naive as he seems is patronizing and gross.

With J, I ran up against one of the unforseen pitfalls of internet dating, which is that even though we live in the same (relatively small) city, our lies never naturally intersect. We don't go to the same places, we have very different schedules, and it was just too much damn work for us to see each other. A couple weeks ago he bailed on a date at the last moment and I texted this girl I'd just met to see if she wanted to go instead. At that point I just kind of went screw J, it's too much effort to see him and most of that effort is coming out on my end.

I still reserve the right to use him as a booty call if neccesary.
