Ohhh rw I feel your pain. The summer I was unemployed was the last summer I didn't have an air conditioner, and I don't think I slept more than 4 hours at a time. I spent my days in a coffee shop or the library just to not die.

The A/C at my office is not coming on. At all. The thermometer on the thermostat is at 82. SO FUCKING GROSS and it's only gonna get worse.

This is so frustrating! It's OCTOBER. In CHICAGO. Fuck you weather.

Supposed to start cooling down tomorrow, down to low 60s by Weds/Thurs.

Even tonight, lows in the mid-50s. Looks like we'll get a big storm this afternoon and then fall will be in full effect.

That is great. But it does me no good today.

This morning I decided to wear shorts to work because 1) it's a "holiday" and the partners are not in town, and 2) it's time to do laundry.

These and a starched shirt and a necktie would make a good office outfit.

I look as professional as is possible in my shorts. They are really nice navy (button fly) non-cargos and I'm wearing them with a blue and grey plaid short sleeve button up shirt from Banana. And cute but scuffed casual shoes.

Boss is out! So is his assistant. It's also a bank holiday. Life is good.

I am optimistic about the A/C actually since NOTHING about it is working as opposed to the fan running and no cool air (which is a big tease). If even the fan is not running it just might mean that the breaker.

.... Damn. It's not the breaker.

Our two newest employees didn't show up today, nor have they called in.

Maybe they thought they had Columbus Day off?

I find the lace-up shirts really creepy, a lot of otherwise v nice people wear them with kilt and I just cringe.

The hiking boots are retarded, though -- you'd have no reason to wear a nice kilt and a sporran for any activity that would also require work boots.

That guy has the kind of hot that not even a lace up shirt and kilt can dampen.

I'm conflicted on kilts--I think they might be sexy but they are usually accompanied by a heavy dose of annoying Scots pride. And bagpipes.

RW, that dude is wearing a proper kilt, those things cost like $400-800 or something, and with a sporran is basically half of formal attire. More utilitarian options for hiking = fine, whatever!

After looking online at men's shoes for a while, I've decided most of them are ugly or boring.
