HOLY FUCK.

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Thursday, 21 October 2004 21:19 (nineteen years ago) link

hahahaaha Stone Roses in a GTA game, surrounded by Helmet, Living Colour, and Danzig.

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Thursday, 21 October 2004 21:20 (nineteen years ago) link

and 808 State! Jeez this is gonna be hellaweird.

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 21 October 2004 21:45 (nineteen years ago) link

* The Who - Experience Front

I'm assuming that's a typo.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Thursday, 21 October 2004 21:46 (nineteen years ago) link

OMG Uzi drive-bys to "Free Bird"!

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 21 October 2004 21:48 (nineteen years ago) link

another fake website for the game for a sci-fi religious cult

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Thursday, 21 October 2004 23:05 (nineteen years ago) link

Ha. It's a bit weird them having fake websites for this one though - it's set a bit early for the web, isn't it?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 October 2004 23:14 (nineteen years ago) link

true, but the web did appear in 1993. GTA:VC had some fake sites, too.

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Thursday, 21 October 2004 23:15 (nineteen years ago) link

When is it supposed to be set, exactly? (ie. when is the latest track on the soundtrack, I guess).

If they had websites looking like they actually did in 1993, that would be cool.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 October 2004 23:19 (nineteen years ago) link

All of the pages should be hosted on Compuserve and Prodigy.

experimental grandma (deangulberry), Thursday, 21 October 2004 23:20 (nineteen years ago) link

Pah - in 1993 they were almost all academic.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 October 2004 23:21 (nineteen years ago) link

(not necessarily in content. There were some mean veggie recipes, I think.)

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 October 2004 23:22 (nineteen years ago) link

FOGHAT

Jimmy Mod always makes friends with women before bedding them down (ModJ), Friday, 22 October 2004 00:03 (nineteen years ago) link

Nice!

57 7th (calstars), Friday, 22 October 2004 00:11 (nineteen years ago) link

Check Ralph Tresvant for Sensitivity

57 7th (calstars), Friday, 22 October 2004 00:12 (nineteen years ago) link

"NAUTILUS"! YES. The "Daytona 500" break, people. Perfection.

Only disappointment is that they chose the wrong Eric B. & Rakim track -- bustin' heads and stealing cars to "Follow the Leader" would be so fucking choice.

alfalfa romeo (natepatrin), Friday, 22 October 2004 00:20 (nineteen years ago) link

i am not excited about this. i'm not sure why.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Friday, 22 October 2004 00:26 (nineteen years ago) link

so if the game has been hacked and there are people out there playing it already we should see some reviews coming in right? Or are hackers just too darn busy to play games?

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 22 October 2004 11:58 (nineteen years ago) link

That full soundtrack made me cream my pants.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 22 October 2004 12:16 (nineteen years ago) link

oh man the house station is stunning! this is going to be so fucking good.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 22 October 2004 12:52 (nineteen years ago) link

surprised at the absense of Happy Mondays, what with Shaun doing a voice over in the game as well.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 22 October 2004 13:22 (nineteen years ago) link

He's doing like an alternate-universe parody of himself though isn't he, it might be a bit weird having a proper Mondays song as well?

I read some people saying you can kidnap babies in this but I think they were taking the piss.

Michael Philip Philip Philip Philip Philip Annoyman (Ferg), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:44 (nineteen years ago) link

You have to take the controller in your arms and rock it gently or the kid's yelling attracts the cops.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:54 (nineteen years ago) link

And it pisses all over you.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 22 October 2004 15:02 (nineteen years ago) link

What's the song playing in the video trailer?

And how have people "hacked" it?

Richard K (Richard K), Saturday, 23 October 2004 02:45 (nineteen years ago) link

Depending on which trailer, it's "Welcome to the Jungle" or "I Don't Give A Fuck".

MC Transmaniacon (natepatrin), Saturday, 23 October 2004 02:49 (nineteen years ago) link

i like the r&b one lots.

phil-two (phil-two), Saturday, 23 October 2004 02:55 (nineteen years ago) link

I dunno what's been put out on the internet or whatever, but I have connections here and there. Some of the stuff I've heard that will be in the game (note, before I posted this, I did some brief Google searches, and some of this doesn't show up. also, perhaps I shouldn't post this, but I'm high, so whatever):

-There will be a Harrier.

-There will be trains. You can hijack trains.

-Obviously, you can skydive, which means you can bail from planes.

-There's going to be a "no-fly zone". The other name for it? "Area 69". So we can safely assume various items will be for grabs here.

-As is in the video, there will be the Hoover Dam.

-There will be mountain biking competitions. A whole host of various "parlor games", in fact. Everything from street racing to Motocross to boxing seems to be on the agenda, from what I heard.

-Cars can be fitted with Nitrous (also obvious in the video)

-There will be a "Hoover Dam".

Alan Conceicao, Saturday, 23 October 2004 06:49 (nineteen years ago) link

does anybody know the name of the Easy E-lookin' guy yet?

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Saturday, 23 October 2004 07:26 (nineteen years ago) link

But Alan, will there be a Hoover Dam?

Dan I. (Dan I.), Saturday, 23 October 2004 07:32 (nineteen years ago) link

Covered up with lava and I feel fine
It washes over me
Keeps me feeling warm at night
And if you've made a deal with
The guy with the horns and the cape
I'll see you later later

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Saturday, 23 October 2004 07:43 (nineteen years ago) link

God knows what it'll be called. Kinda like how the Mirage is the "Visage" and that shit.

Alan Conceicao, Sunday, 24 October 2004 03:57 (nineteen years ago) link

Vaccuum Cleaner Dam.

JimD (JimD), Sunday, 24 October 2004 08:11 (nineteen years ago) link

cºzen (Cozen), Sunday, 24 October 2004 09:25 (nineteen years ago) link

okay, i have to complete 10,000 words of Loose Lips stuff, edit and layout the next issue, write a Kerrang! cover feature and teach a class in music journalism before I'll be able to get my mitts on this sucker. this means i shall be regularly checking ilx and expecting up to the minute gameplay updates from US ilx0rs.

do not disappoint me. i crave distraction.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 25 October 2004 11:40 (nineteen years ago) link

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Monday, 25 October 2004 11:47 (nineteen years ago) link
