mary louise parker is a very pretty, slightly plain-looking girl who's made a career out of enjoyable screen presence and a half-drugged sounding drawl that she can sometimes work to her great benefit.

someone explain Mary Louise Parker to me. I don't get it.

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

I think maybe her face always seems sort of droopy-to-one-side to me.

xpost well chicks apparently don't know anything about this.

horseshoe, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

well she didn't get on tv cuz everyone finds her so painful to look at!!

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

god i'm such an asshole. i'm sure if i ran into her in life i'd think she was lovely.

horseshoe, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

mlp = hawt cute cool what not to like

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:37 (eighteen years ago)

AND SHE ALWAYS HAS WEEEEED

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:37 (eighteen years ago)

l o l

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:37 (eighteen years ago)

hahahaha

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:38 (eighteen years ago)

it's true she seems fun

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:38 (eighteen years ago)

is weeds a good show? should i netflix it?

bell_labs, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:39 (eighteen years ago)

i don't know my friends have been trying to convince my bf and i to watch for like months. it's become really annoying now. but i guess WE'LL REALLY LOVE IT

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:40 (eighteen years ago)

it's not too bad, that weeds.

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:40 (eighteen years ago)

its too cutesy for me - a lot of people who i generally share tastes w/like it tho

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:40 (eighteen years ago)

apparently Martin Donovan is aging and also plays a dick, neither of which I really want to see.

horseshoe, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:41 (eighteen years ago)

sopranos > the wire > six feet under > weeds

xpost: it is very cutesy

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:41 (eighteen years ago)

weeds is dumb. 2 episodes and i was out

jergïns, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:41 (eighteen years ago)

but i'm the kind of viewer who says stuff like "you wouldn't sell an ounce for that!!" to the tv

jergïns, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:41 (eighteen years ago)

well showtime has always been so much more gratuitous/cutesy/whatever about their programming decisions

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:42 (eighteen years ago)

than hbo.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:43 (eighteen years ago)

omg que i cant belive u like sopranos better than the wire

and i watched margot at the wedding on yr recommendation

wtf

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:43 (eighteen years ago)

like the L word? please

margot at the wedding disappointed me.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:43 (eighteen years ago)

the L word must be the most ridiculous interpretation of life i've ever witnessed onscreen

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:43 (eighteen years ago)

i almost put the wire before the sopranos but i didn't want to start a big thing on the lohan thread. i like the wire better than the sopranos so far, but i'm only in the middle of season 3

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:44 (eighteen years ago)

jhoshea did you totally hate margot?? sorry dude.

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:44 (eighteen years ago)

this thread should be about enough to any woman into a lesbian, that's for sure

M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:45 (eighteen years ago)

margot at the wedding was srsly eye-stabby

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:45 (eighteen years ago)

re: Weeds - it fell hard and fast after the first season (imo) I haven't seen anything past the middle of the third, but I'd heard rumblings it had somewhat redeemed itself. MLP is pretty hot but she had really started to annoy me on that show.

will, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:45 (eighteen years ago)

obv a lot of talent and intelligence but whoa off the rails bigtime

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:46 (eighteen years ago)

as evidenced by bus running final scene

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:46 (eighteen years ago)

oh man sorry, don't take any more suggestions from me then.

xpost--my wife and i hated the last scene. and as she said "A woman would never leave her purse behind like that."

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:47 (eighteen years ago)

at least we agree on THERE WILL BE BLOOD

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

yah anyone who cant agree on that is just looney

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

:YES

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

that's EXACTLY what i said to my bf: no one would leave their purse behind like that. awful. ruined it.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

i just felt like that final scene was trying to salvage a situation where the characters had veered into caricature - which just cant work when youve raised the stakes by making the movie so ridiculously painful - there were actually a lot of things i liked abt it tho

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

i was like ready to grant the movie some exceptions yada yada yada if it tied it together well, and then she left her purse in the fucking parking lot.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i don't know how you could have written a good ending to that, a Mom/kid away on the bus ending is always gonna be weepy

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

yea i definitely got into it or whatever, but the dialogue sounded staged to me.

did you see it at BAM?

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

naw i watched it @ home last nite

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

aaahhh

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

i thought the dialog was great, especially the fights. the car scenes were really tense too.

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

okay but look -- is that the dialogue that REALLY happens when families get ugly? or is that drama-glam dialogue?

Surmounter, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

it was like: i really liked the tree climbing - then fire department came wtf it kept being like that

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

the nicole kidman relationship with her kid was soooo fucked up and awesome

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:54 (eighteen years ago)

best explanation for MLP love is the Barlett Wins Again West Wing ep - red dress, sounds perpetually bored, talking about her high-stakes gambling on political races

milo z, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:55 (eighteen years ago)

i liked when dude zinged her at the reading and the discussion of why they used to fuck so much

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 00:59 (eighteen years ago)

basically i liked it when kidman got zinged

jhøshea, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 01:00 (eighteen years ago)

ah okay. i hate her perpetually bored voice and i hated that character on West Wing.

horseshoe, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 01:03 (eighteen years ago)

sjp is a hideous beast
