mary louise parker is a very pretty, slightly plain-looking girl who's made a career out of enjoyable screen presence and a half-drugged sounding drawl that she can sometimes work to her great benefit.

well showtime has always been so much more gratuitous/cutesy/whatever about their programming decisions

i almost put the wire before the sopranos but i didn't want to start a big thing on the lohan thread. i like the wire better than the sopranos so far, but i'm only in the middle of season 3

re: Weeds - it fell hard and fast after the first season (imo) I haven't seen anything past the middle of the third, but I'd heard rumblings it had somewhat redeemed itself. MLP is pretty hot but she had really started to annoy me on that show.

obv a lot of talent and intelligence but whoa off the rails bigtime

that's EXACTLY what i said to my bf: no one would leave their purse behind like that. awful. ruined it.

i just felt like that final scene was trying to salvage a situation where the characters had veered into caricature - which just cant work when youve raised the stakes by making the movie so ridiculously painful - there were actually a lot of things i liked abt it tho

i was like ready to grant the movie some exceptions yada yada yada if it tied it together well, and then she left her purse in the fucking parking lot.

yeah i don't know how you could have written a good ending to that, a Mom/kid away on the bus ending is always gonna be weepy

yea i definitely got into it or whatever, but the dialogue sounded staged to me.

i thought the dialog was great, especially the fights. the car scenes were really tense too.

okay but look -- is that the dialogue that REALLY happens when families get ugly? or is that drama-glam dialogue?

the nicole kidman relationship with her kid was soooo fucked up and awesome

best explanation for MLP love is the Barlett Wins Again West Wing ep - red dress, sounds perpetually bored, talking about her high-stakes gambling on political races

i liked when dude zinged her at the reading and the discussion of why they used to fuck so much

basically i liked it when kidman got zinged

ah okay. i hate her perpetually bored voice and i hated that character on West Wing.
