jergïns, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:05 (sixteen years ago) link

Portland seems like somewhere I would move if I was some kind of freelancer or worked from home. It's the dream, I suppose.

admrl, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:06 (sixteen years ago) link

yup^^^^

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:06 (sixteen years ago) link

http://www.nwfilm.org/

The art museum ain't much.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:11 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah lotsa theaters cinema 21, clinton st and then all the fabled $3 theaters that serve beer and show 2nd run hits and the more popular arthouse fare. american eden come here now

jergïns, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:11 (sixteen years ago) link

There are jobs here. Post yer resume on craigslist and you will get decent responses(how i've found at least 3 jobs here).

I really enjoy it here. I'm very happy I got the fuck out of michigan and made it out here.

We still need to see Blade Runner. I'm trying to drag people along with me tonight or tomorrow.

kingfish, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:13 (sixteen years ago) link

I like the gays there and in Seattle, I wonder if they wd like me

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:14 (sixteen years ago) link

Also, this isn't exactly a non-drinking town. Beer & wine is everywhere, and this is good.

kingfish, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:14 (sixteen years ago) link

I just really like the weather, which means I should probably move back to London.

Also food, beer, coffee, thrift stores.

admrl, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:15 (sixteen years ago) link

xp!

admrl, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:15 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah the bars in Portland are awesome! and plentiful

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:15 (sixteen years ago) link

The $3 beer theaters should be a national treasure. That's how we got to see They Live last month.

At least one of them is reportedly haunted.

I HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT PORTLAND, OREGON

gabbneb, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:18 (sixteen years ago) link

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:40 (sixteen years ago) link

sports teams:

blazers = HAHAHAHA
PSU vikings = enh, most folks root for OU/OSU/Seahawks
Winterhawks = chicago farm team, have yet to go a game
Lumberjax = pro lacrosse
Timbers = pro soccer, occasionally plays against english clubs

kingfish, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:43 (sixteen years ago) link

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:44 (sixteen years ago) link

(I have t-shirt and went to Dogs in the Park day)

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:45 (sixteen years ago) link

if we move to portland, we'll just start our own sports franchise/brisket shack.

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:45 (sixteen years ago) link

love the location of the baseball stadium but dunno about the inside. it's PCL, right?

jergïns, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:46 (sixteen years ago) link

yep. It's grungy but acceptable.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:48 (sixteen years ago) link

I like it and haven't even met any other artists yet/still/really.

Kerm, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:52 (sixteen years ago) link

does the portland sky feature visible stars at night? cause that would take some getting used to

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 19:03 (sixteen years ago) link

Yes.

The baseball stadium is affable.

I am hopefully leaving for grad school next year. It is not as awesome here as it used to be, perhaps, but it is still better than many places.

The art museum does indeed suck.

Casuistry, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 21:51 (sixteen years ago) link
