It would be cool if Ben Affleck just wore tracksuits in every movie he is in from now on. He wore a multitude of them in the Town too.

in ripley/informant he's supposed to be a nerd i thought, and is appropriately scrawny in one/chubby in the other.

What am I, fuckin' sandwich welfare? I think you should establish a good line of credit. Like how you bought your couch, payment plans. Remember how your mother brought in $10 everyday for a year and she finally got her couch Rent-A-Center Style?
Can I have my food now please?

Dude, that's the second time you've mentioned that. You've got to provide a screencap or actor's name next time.

Though with the holidays wrapping up, I'm already getting a pretty good idea of what a fat Pleasant Plains looks like.

Pleasant Plains, Thursday, 30 December 2010 18:39 (thirteen years ago) link

haha i mentioned it the second time because i went back to look at the invictus thread and just copied my comments

There used to be a rumor that William Goldman secretly wrote Good Will Hunting, but here's an even better story that's on the record: Terrence Malick suggested its ending. Matt Damon revealed that after he finagled a meeting with the reclusive Malick to discuss the script, the director suggested a change to the story's romantic happy ending, which found Damon and Minnie Driver leaving town together. "In the middle of the dinner, he said, 'I think it would be better if she left and he went after her.' And Ben [Affleck] and I looked at each other. It was one of those things where you go, 'Of course that's better.'" At least, it was a better note than Gus Van Sant's original insistence that Affleck's character should be killed: "Gus came down and said 'I want to do a draft where Chucky, Ben's character, dies on the construction site.' And Ben and I were just mortified. 'What are you talking about?' 'I want him to get crushed like a bug.' We said 'Gus what are you talking about? You cant just fucking smush Ben. That's a terrible idea.'" [Taking Barack to the Movies via MCN]

CASEY AFFLECK (V.O.): Where is it that we were together? Who were you that I lived with? The brother. The friend. Darkness, light. Strife and love. Are they the workings of one mind? The features of the same face? Oh, my soul. Let me be in you now. Look out through my eyes. Look out at the things you made. All things shining. And let's get off mothers. 'Cause I just got off yours.

max, Thursday, 6 January 2011 06:08 (thirteen years ago) link

malick would have shot 400 hrs of footage and the main character would be the ponytail dude from the bar

feel like someone should devote themselves to fictionalizing alternate histories like this use the internet to spread them as truth then revel themselves 30 years later to be the originator of most of mankinds misconceptions and the greatest artist of all time

your generation appalls me (Dr Morbius), Monday, 28 March 2011 03:47 (thirteen years ago) link

aw morbs it was about tru love

max, Monday, 28 March 2011 03:52 (thirteen years ago) link

MAX, EVERY DiCraprio/Damon thriller IS ABOUT TRUE LOVE, which SUCKS!!!

the "funny premise" WAS NOT DONE AS COMEDY.

"'heaven can wait' had that premise sorta"

Stamp seems merely a slightly more malevolent celestial messenger than the avuncular Claude Rains-James Mason model, and the Adjustment Bureau members' physical and telepathic limits remain murky, as does the question of whether they use the main reading room of the 42nd Street library as a base only during overnight hours.

http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/review/the-adjustment-bureau/5300

btw, can u tell in that review how I avoided saying Anthony Mackie was playing a Magic Negro just cuz i didnt want to deal with ppl who'd never heard the term?
