J0rdan S., Sunday, 16 January 2011 05:08 (fifteen years ago)

Reminded me of that sketch from The State:

"I took #2 from every dumb-dumb in this mickey fickey neighborhood today."

Zsa Zsa Gay Bar (jaymc), Sunday, 16 January 2011 05:13 (fifteen years ago)

love that sketch

mizzell, Sunday, 16 January 2011 05:30 (fifteen years ago)

Ocean Billy, Jon Bovi, IT'S NOT FUNNY, SUDEKIS!

Pleasant Plains, Sunday, 16 January 2011 19:53 (fifteen years ago)

Is it just me, or did Cee-Lo have better timing than pretty much everyone in the cast?

Son of Sisyphus of Reaganing (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Sunday, 16 January 2011 20:00 (fifteen years ago)

Cee-Lo is SHORT.

I thought the opening "civility" skit on Fox wasn't bad

curmudgeon, Sunday, 16 January 2011 22:07 (fifteen years ago)

Great episode!

polyphonic, Monday, 17 January 2011 05:52 (fifteen years ago)

Vanessa Bayer was great in the Bar Mitzvah sketch. Hope they don't turn her into Kristen Wiig 2, though.

Gay for Johnny Moped (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Monday, 17 January 2011 06:00 (fifteen years ago)

I don't think that's possible; Wiig had semi-annoying one-note "characters" (Target Lady, Surprise Lady) right out of the gate, while Bayer just has (the admittedly diminishing returns of) Miley Cyrus, plus what appears to be vast untapped potential.

Son of Sisyphus of Reaganing (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Monday, 17 January 2011 06:32 (fifteen years ago)

would tap that potential am i right

J0rdan S., Monday, 17 January 2011 06:35 (fifteen years ago)

feels really weird to see a 77er say 'tap' instead of 'smash'

Alex Da Dad (some dude), Monday, 17 January 2011 13:55 (fifteen years ago)

Sometimes, a tap is all you need to win the point.

I thought it was a pretty terrible episode, but really liked the Globe Theater sketch.

Anybody remember their skit "Thank you for coming to Loewes, sit back relax, 100 more previews and we've locked the doors"?

dan selzer, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 15:39 (fifteen years ago)

pat from the keys is a fantastic drummer.

Moonlight Graham (chrisv2010), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 15:44 (fifteen years ago)

fffffaarrrrttttt

domo genesis p-orridge (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 15:46 (fifteen years ago)

lol

Princess TamTam, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 15:53 (fifteen years ago)

sorry im just a lowly keys fan.

Moonlight Graham (chrisv2010), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 16:05 (fifteen years ago)

i thought this one was p funny but i can't remember anything except "dad! all i wanted was a modest luncheon"

goole, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

and the "my nintendo" bit

goole, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

I thought it was a pretty terrible episode

To be fair, I was incredibly high.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:20 (fifteen years ago)

pat from the keys is a fantastic drummer.

I agree and tried to defend him, but apparently once Whiney speaks the law has been laid down.

one pretty obvious guy in the obvious (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:24 (fifteen years ago)

espn deportes was great! it's all coming back to me

goole, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:26 (fifteen years ago)

"dad! all i wanted was a modest luncheon"

Vanessa Bayer is so fucking funny. I have super high hopes for her being hueg famous one day. She's totally in the Larraine Newman mold. And like Jay Pharoah is super talented and I'm finally glad to see him get to do his impressions in actually funny skits (aka, the Fresh Prince outtakes).

domo genesis p-orridge (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:26 (fifteen years ago)

lol yeah, that skit was great. I have to admit that Gwenyth really won me over, she wasn't great or particularly funny, but she threw herself into it all and tried her hardest, it was charming.

one pretty obvious guy in the obvious (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:27 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i feel like they don't know what to do with that guy except shoehorn his jay impression in once a show

xp

goole, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:27 (fifteen years ago)

Fuck whoever I have to say fuck to for not having the CeeLo performances on Hulu tho

domo genesis p-orridge (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:28 (fifteen years ago)

To be fair, I was incredibly high.

Ha, if I'm watching the show on Saturday night (instead of the next day on Hulu), I'm always high. It's become sort of a tradition. (And makes a lot of the sketches more tolerable than they otherwise would be.)

Tyler/Perry's "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" (jaymc), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:29 (fifteen years ago)

kind of weird that they left the (not very good) sketch ABOUT his song in while excising the actual performance xp

oOoOO on the TLC tip (donna rouge), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:30 (fifteen years ago)

I was howling at that Fresh Prince sketch

also howling at Gwyneth singing Taylor Swift better than Taylor does

Indolence Mission (DJP), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:31 (fifteen years ago)

DJP OTM

one pretty obvious guy in the obvious (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:32 (fifteen years ago)

espn deportes

I loved this.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:32 (fifteen years ago)

haha yes, that was great too

Indolence Mission (DJP), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:34 (fifteen years ago)

I have super high hopes for her being hueg famous one day. She's totally in the Larraine Newman mold.

That is not an auspicious precedent.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:34 (fifteen years ago)

Vanessa Bayer is so fucking funny. I have super high hopes for her being hueg famous one day

I think they've done a pretty good job of finding a place for her. Pharaoh has gotten the most attention, but I think she's probably been in more sketches than any of the other newbies.

Tyler/Perry's "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" (jaymc), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:34 (fifteen years ago)

i laughed at the spoof of the cape. THE SPANX

Moonlight Graham (chrisv2010), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:35 (fifteen years ago)

Is there a thread for how awful THE CAPE is?

Indolence Mission (DJP), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:36 (fifteen years ago)

nope.

Moonlight Graham (chrisv2010), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:36 (fifteen years ago)

please start one.

Moonlight Graham (chrisv2010), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:36 (fifteen years ago)

I just want to note (too late now) that I made a similar "THE SCARF!!" joke to my wife months ago when I saw the first commercial for The Cape. As someone who followed Heroes until the bitter end, that show should theoretically appeal to me - but it looks like fucking garbage.

one pretty obvious guy in the obvious (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:37 (fifteen years ago)

THE CAPE - why am I watching this terrible, terrible show

Indolence Mission (DJP), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:38 (fifteen years ago)

Oh can i mention, the best SNL performance of the last few weeks was Jason Sudekis tickled pink in the sketch where Jim Carrey was the psychic celeb impersonator. I was dying

domo genesis p-orridge (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:40 (fifteen years ago)

yeah that was really good

goole, Wednesday, 19 January 2011 18:41 (fifteen years ago)
