enbb and horseshoe are my favourite posters for cute boys and crappy teen movies

― plax (ico), Tuesday, January 25, 2011 8:36 PM (1 hour ago) Bookmark

HAHAHAHA <3 otm. I was out with co-workers last week and got a little too excited when I found one who also knew all the words to the poem that J Stiles recites in 10 Things. That said, I would argue that that movie is not crappy but AWESOME.

enbb is go-to for being awesome btw

Right back at you woman.

I can't think of anything I know about that someone else on ILX doesn't know way more about. Frowny face.

I'm better than most of you at everything. I just am too damn modest to constantly display my superiority.

Jeff, Wednesday, 26 January 2011 14:31 (thirteen years ago) link

I might venture early 90s UK dance music for me, but then damn you Tim F.

I think I out-knowledge everyone in Wengerball, Buffy episodes and (in a years time i will i guess) Wu-Tang?

Damn I need to learn a craft that isnt done alone in a dark room. <--- sentence makes my obsession seem more grotesque than it already is.

sunny: i perceive letter and numbers via color-grapheme synesthesia. i hate it when people say they "have" it, it's not a disease imo? agree/disagree or do you say "have"?

i feel like this thread was A+ trolling in terms of making the max. # of ppl butthurt but idk that prolly wasnt the intention

plax (ico), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 17:47 (thirteen years ago) link

otm, but some people really act like theyre stricken w/ it and that they see colors when they look @ a page, etc, and when i hear people say they "have" synethesia it always reminds me of that type of person. just my .02 and my imo

dark link (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 26 January 2011 17:52 (thirteen years ago) link

were ppl really butthurt? it seemed like some people were ;_; that they weren't mentioned or known for anything, but they weren't too butthurt. people who get super butthurt at least have board personalities and aren't wallpaper imo. tbh i skimmed the thread. haw.

Roxy, synesthesia is not a disease or a disorder but a condition ie: there is nothing wrong with you. Synesthetes have more neural connections between sensory brain centers. In the case of color grapheme the grapheme and color areas sit right next to each other in the visual cortex. The neural connections between these areas are not only increased in c-g synesthetes but they also pass through a binding center and hence the binding of color and numbers or letters.

Let me ask you - C-G synesthetes say that if they see for example B as red and someone drew a black B on a red piece of paper it doesn't disappear. Is that a shade thing? Like if the paper was the EXACT shade of red would it disappear?

Another: If i were to write you a note in red ink would you know its it red ink or would you still see the same colors for each letter you always do? ALSO: say if you saw C as green and E as purple, but in my hand writing my Es look more like Cs, do those Es look green??

Second last question: ill you do this mapping thing and either post or email me the result? Pleeeease??
http://www.steverudolfi.com/synesthesia/mapper.php

Last question: Don't you get a headache reading????
