How old are (were) you as of Jan 09, 2011?

The average age of the board would've been late 20s in the 2000-2005 era. Pretty sure it skews older now.

don't think this takes into account all the posters that've come since 2005.

34, first post aged 30. Don't recall lurking here though I must've done, and for ages probably. I don't even recall what first brought me to ILX either, other than a vague sense of googling favourite old records and continually ending up here.

However, I do remember once printing out a particularly interesting thread to read on the tube home, and being so impressed that I left it strategically poised on the seat for someone to be mindblown on the return journey. I loitered at Wimbledon to see what happened. What happened was that the cleaner came on and yoink - straight into the rubbish bag.

Discovered ILX at 16 searching for news on ADULT. and am now 27. This place has changed.

def remember my first encounter: just did a search for loveless vinyl to cd comparisons and came up with this, which i thought was just a database page of a bygone forum (the minimalism confused me)

i joined after bawling at the part of the convo where an ilxor burns a vinyl to mp3's, and when told that it doesn't work, posts .wav versions

I found this site in early 2003 - was googling for the Majesticons album and found a thread about, so I registered right away and posted to thread. I guess I wasn't made for lurking.

I am 30. I started posting when I was 21, in September 2001. So in September I'll have posted on ILX for ten years. My early posts really gross me out.

In 2002, there was a thread called "What will you be doing in ten years?"

My response was: I will be nearly 32, teaching community college hotties.

Oh, how very wrong I was. LIFE. SO HILARIOUS, RIGHT?

I think i lurked here during 2002, and finally got round to posting in 2003. I can't remember how I found ilx, but I kept coming across it without having it bookmarked. I was already acquainted online with Kate the Saint/Masonic Boom going back to at least 2000 from her portraits of rockstars and slash fiction - so maybe it was through her.

I was 41 on that date and will be until November. Started lurking here in 2003 after an ILXor recommended the place to me irl. I mostly lurk now, but occasionally post from time to time...

so let's assume ilx is getting older even though there's not solid evidence for that yet:

reasons?
a. average daily internet user in 2000 was younger than average daily internet user in 2010? I don't have any data to go off but that seems like it'd be true.
b. as long as you have a core group of posters, unless there's a very steady influx of younger posters the site average will inevitably rise
c. ILM is a smaller part of the site now and music obsessives skew young? (is that even true? is that something that was more true 20 years ago?) is there a reason why someone who joins this site would be likely to be young?

Posting 38 while I still can, in a couple of days it'll be different. A little disappointed that I can feel myself getting a bit itchy & scratchy about this birthday already, but no real idea why.

Currently 38. I lurked for a while (a year or so) and then first post was September 2004, so I would have been 32 at the time. A relatively late starter it seems.

32. Think I was 25 when I first posted, under a different name. ILX recommendations have enriched my cultural life considerably in that time.
