one month passes...
would somebody notate me a peanut butter/chocolate/banana combination that works? should i have multiple layers of banana so i don't taste so much of the dryness in the pb and (dark) chocolate?

that said, i made this this morning:

i think the key is to mash the banana and spread it on the bread like butter, fold a LITTLE peanut butter into the banana, and put the chocolate in the middle. and then melt it all together! yum.

i'm not much of a sandwich person, but that looks delicious!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the OPEN-FACED PEANUT BUTTER JELLY ROYALE:

creamy peanut butter formed into the shape of a slice of bread
a handful of m&ms
1/2 tbsp of honey
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of sugar
1 squirty dollup of jelly
1 mint leaf for garnish

For best results: must be completely giggletits through entire preparation and consumption.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 24 June 2005 12:33 (nineteen years ago) link

7 grain bread
sharp cheddar
vidalia onion
pineapple (squeezed as dry as possible)

Grilled. My wife requested it, and I took a bite while it was hot. Strange and decent.

I had a really good sandwich last week with: crunchy wheat bread, smoked Gouda, lettuce, stone ground mustard, and avocado. Mmm.

the local grocery store actually does this amazing turkey sandwich where all the other ingredients are fairly blah but they roast the turkey themselves. i cant really eat it for lunch because i have to nap under my desk then.

Similarly, it is unjust that for some reason the specials at my deli are always the best drunk food ever (gyros, philly cheesesteaks, etc.), but they're only available during lunch time.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 9 December 2005 20:21 (eighteen years ago) link

i am usually not a foodie in any sense of the term, but sometimes when you eat a good, simple sandwich with very high quality meats and cheeses you understand, for a minute.

SURE.

AaronK (AaronK), Friday, 9 December 2005 20:41 (eighteen years ago) link

alternatively, http://www.blackdiamond.ca/recipes/pizza_sand.htm

the point is, sandwich can include pizza.

AaronK (AaronK), Friday, 9 December 2005 20:42 (eighteen years ago) link

I think the form of pizza is more essential than the common toppings/flavors that the pizza sandwich tries to emulate. I mean, taking off the top piece of bread wouldn't make it into a pizza.

Today it would be a great, GREAT Cuban sandwich, with no gristle or slimy fatty bits on the roast pork, and on nice, crusty bread that cuts the roof of my mouth when I chew it but I don't realize this until the next day.

From my local S. Indian snack shop:

White bread
cucumber/onion/soft cooked potato(almost mashed)/tomato/
sweet red pepper ---> all thinly sliced
coriander chutney
White bread
Another layer of aforementioned veggies+ chutney
Panneer cheese
White bread

All toasted in a sandwich press and sprinkled with this amazing masala.
