Ellie Goulding was every bit the dud I expected.

Bring back out Kristen Wiig as Tina Fey's singing fetus!

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 8 May 2011 04:08 (fifteen years ago)

Stefon, still hilarious. Now it's obvious the point is to make him break, though.

johnny crunch, Sunday, 8 May 2011 05:37 (fifteen years ago)

i like 'your song' ok but ellie has abt 5 songs better than that & 'lights' on her album imo

johnny crunch, Sunday, 8 May 2011 05:45 (fifteen years ago)

stefon is the best bit in years imo

people with kelp are yumbags (m bison), Sunday, 8 May 2011 13:06 (fifteen years ago)

Lindsey Buckingham cameo on What's Up With That!

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 03:53 (fifteen years ago)

Star. Studded.

Josh in Chicago, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:05 (fifteen years ago)

Would see an Ambiguously Gay Duo movie with Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon (and Colbert and Ed Helms and whoever that was playing Big Head).

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:05 (fifteen years ago)

ROFL @ the live action Ambigulously Gay Duo... hahahhahaha

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:05 (fifteen years ago)

colbert

You Get Hoynes (bnw), Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:05 (fifteen years ago)

I would sooo pay to see that made into a real movie

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:06 (fifteen years ago)

i thought it was just some lame rerun filler at first

You Get Hoynes (bnw), Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:07 (fifteen years ago)

that was pretty choice

i thought 'what's up w/ that' was too much meta & not enough sudeikis dancing

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:07 (fifteen years ago)

jon hamm is just the best, that's all there is to it

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:07 (fifteen years ago)

big head was carrell

Gukbe, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:08 (fifteen years ago)

perfect!

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:08 (fifteen years ago)

omg first buckingham and then this amibuously gay duo wow

paul simon kinda boring

tehresa, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:10 (fifteen years ago)

idk i think this is kinda cool/based

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:11 (fifteen years ago)

at least listen-able, which is better then most of this season

You Get Hoynes (bnw), Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:13 (fifteen years ago)

There should just be a rotating Hamm, Alec Baldwin and Timberlake slot.

Josh in Chicago, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:17 (fifteen years ago)

i endorse this idea

tehresa, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:18 (fifteen years ago)

i'm just going to choose to believe that will smith set up his massive trailer in order to create a controversy so he could pull even w/ denzel washington in the "times impersonated by jay pharaoh on snl in 2011" race

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:26 (fifteen years ago)

i believe they are both tied at 34

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:26 (fifteen years ago)

Odds on Jay Pharaoh having a second season? Low, methinks.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:27 (fifteen years ago)

is it me or has there not been much Ed Helms in this episode?

Gukbe, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:27 (fifteen years ago)

i would hope that they'd keep jay pharaoh around considering how young he is -- i mean i know he was famous mostly for impressions, otoh i would like to see them use him for more than just impressions of the same ppl that black comics have been impersonating since he was a child

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:28 (fifteen years ago)

I don't know if he's just not writing anything else, or if all his non-impression stuff is just getting cut at rehearsal, but he's a one dimensional castmember so far. Disappointing, certainly.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:30 (fifteen years ago)

I hope they keep Jay around, he's really talented he's just being underutilized... they ought to actually write some sketches for him!

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:31 (fifteen years ago)

Paul Brittain is kind of invisible too. Vanessa Bayer and Taran Killam are the only new ones who really made an impact this year.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:32 (fifteen years ago)

it's still weird to me that they fire ppl after one season

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:33 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i don't remember anything paul brittain's done except that one character that jaymc said he did at improv

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:34 (fifteen years ago)

they really need to hire some new writers... and get rid of Seth Meyers...

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:35 (fifteen years ago)

On the whole, this season's been funnier than SNL has been in a while imo. I'm sure a few new writers would be a good thing, but no matter who you bring in they all still have to answer to Lorne.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:38 (fifteen years ago)

well they chewed up & spit out hannibal burress xp

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:39 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i think this season has been the best in a while

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:39 (fifteen years ago)

They should end more sketches with Kenan as Louis Armstrong in a little circle in the corner.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:44 (fifteen years ago)

They should end more sketches with Kenan as Louis Armstrong in a little circle in the corner.

J0rdan S., Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:44 (fifteen years ago)

That too.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 15 May 2011 04:45 (fifteen years ago)

I don't know if I've ever seen a host used less than Ed Helms. granted, I watched the show on demand, where they cut out the monologue and a few sketches, but that small role in the Ambiguously Gay Duo sketch was literally the only time I saw him until after Weekend Update, well into the 2nd half of the show.

some dude, Tuesday, 17 May 2011 12:35 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah. I was looking forward to it, since I went to college with him, but couldn't believe how little he was in it. Maybe they spent all week filming Ambiguously Gay Duo. I have a theory that whenever they cut to a commercial they've already shown, it's going to be a thin episode.

dan selzer, Tuesday, 17 May 2011 12:53 (fifteen years ago)

Helms played the banjo in "What Up with That."

jaymc, Tuesday, 17 May 2011 13:38 (fifteen years ago)

GAGA.

and timberlake

but GAGA!!

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 22 May 2011 03:28 (fifteen years ago)

they're gonna give her a big ten minute block like they did jay-z right?

J0rdan S., Sunday, 22 May 2011 03:29 (fifteen years ago)

gaga's on? i guess i have to go figure out how to get this to appear on my tv

markers, Sunday, 22 May 2011 03:38 (fifteen years ago)

shit, that's one of the best lonely island songs ever

J0rdan S., Sunday, 22 May 2011 04:00 (fifteen years ago)

the melody in the hook is just the shit

J0rdan S., Sunday, 22 May 2011 04:01 (fifteen years ago)

eh I didn't find it that funny tbh... I chuckled, that's it

The Brainwasher, Sunday, 22 May 2011 04:03 (fifteen years ago)

interesting tho that gaga will have a gay rights anthem on the charts at the same time as she's singing on a song that expresses a sentiment (jokingly or not) that is at least mildly homophobic

J0rdan S., Sunday, 22 May 2011 04:03 (fifteen years ago)

yeah it wasn't even really that funny, i kind of wish it was a real, normal song tho -- from a pure musical standpoint i loved it

J0rdan S., Sunday, 22 May 2011 04:04 (fifteen years ago)

i would go see a "the pianos of lady gaga" exhibit at the smithsonian in 20 years

J0rdan S., Sunday, 22 May 2011 04:05 (fifteen years ago)
