are you saying "zee ess" or "zed ess"? recently it came to my attention that "zed" is a "thing" with "a lot of people in the world"

which brought up the painful memory, about five years ago, my mom reveals that when my mom and dad were trying to figure out what to name the blob that popped out of her body, it was down to "zachary" or "jedediah". after long deliberation, they went with the z option. so this "zed" stuff is weird because it's a hybrid of ...well you get it

although i had a talk the other day about this and someone told me that it would have been a good thing, that i could have "owned" jedediah. very strategic.

what are you drinking?

well about an hour ago i was going tiki and made something involving jamaican rum, demerara rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, and apricot liquor. then a while ago i just made a gin and tonic with ridiculous errors. now i'm sitting here thinking "why don't i just have some tequila straight up to really 'taste it'

how does one err when mixing gin and tonic?

pro tip: have whisky and ginger ale

i can support that pro tip

but i prefer to call it bourbon and ginger
nice ring to it

you throw out the shotglass so you have no real idea how much you're pouring in. then you pour in what you think is the normal amount of gin, and then you add some cointreau. then you add lime juice and tonic. then you put more gin in just to safe. then add a bit of cointreau. top off with gin.

i don't have any whiskey. i ran dry on it a while ago so i'm down to other assorted beverages

- logicomix - it's good, it's about infinity, the graphic half of Graphic Novel looks like it was auto-generated by an application from 2023 (in a negative way, i just mean that the program hasn't been invented yet, not that it's futuristic and cool) but it's worth a read for infinity seekers
- just played half an hour of Super Meat Boy, and goddamn is it hardcore gamer nerd, and by that i mean that if you're drunk, it is not nearly as much fun. most games are more fun if you're a bit tipsy, but this game is so intense that if you have half a drink you're fucked. the #1 super meat boy player runs a cotton candy factory and never stops laughing
- last week i went to a resort in jamaica. i didn't realize it when we went there, but it was a "couples" resort. basically everyone was on a honeymoon and doing it all the time. every morning when we came back from the beach, our room and bed were made up with a new design for the towels on the bed each time. most of the time it was innocent stuff like swans and a little heart symbol, but on the final day we stayed there i returned from a nice floaty time on the ocean to this scene:
