Yeah, when they were building the new underpass at work there were basically two guys with a paintbrush trying to do white lines freehand. The completed cycle route divider is unsurprisingly wonky.

But sometimes the more technical way is not necessarily better...

There's a problem with some big harddrives where the read head starts to stick to things, and the recommended solution is to hold it a foot over a flat surface and drop it.

modified wheelbarrow, or indeed a powered vehicle! I suppose its largely dependent on the stretch of road they were expected to cover..."We want you to reach the coast by nightfall...OR YOU DON'T GET PAID!"
