i was kinda depressed watching her in 'machete', like this amazing charming comic actress turned down the path into doing kinda exploitative shit like that as if that's what she thought was what people would want to see. also:

she looks like some people I know in their early 30s. like the ones who seem to live really fast

She wasn't awful in Mean Girls but i mean come on

look, I am just telling you what her acclaimed performances are

she was never a great actress. Mean Girls is a pretty good movie with her as a decent lead, but it's hardly a compelling role or anything.

Freaky Friday is fucking stupid just for the "I hate the White Stripes!/I know right? Get a bass player!" sort of dialogue

but kids talk like that! and worse!

she was perky, confident, fresh, funny and had an innocent appeal that nobody else really seemed to have at the time, which puts her in kind of a pickle because none of those attributes seem to apply any more

she was pretty charming, idk. i think any weaknesses were minor in that role. it's just kinda of sad that it ended up like this, she went from the lead in a tina fey-scripted flick to 'machete', kinda seems like a considerable fall.

she was very compelling and great and Mean Girls, with a charm and openness that nobody else had. same can be said for freaky friday.

promise was written all over those performances, so the great actress thing, tho perhaps premature, stems from that.

this is actually making me look forward to the inevitable hoopla around lilo's future chylde, and what it will be called

A key thing to remember about Mean Girls is to look at the subsequent success her costars (McAdams, Seyfried, Kaplan--hell, even Fey & Poehler) have had as LiLo spins ever downward.

lilo basically has terrible parents (obv, like super-terrible) and awful friends whereas most of those others i imagine were either strong enough to overcome any similar obstacles or surrounded themselves with better people.

i'm also the guy who loves "just my luck" and thought she was amazing in it, but i get flack for that. i think that was right before her downfall? not sure

I don't think anybody saw Herbie/praised her role in it

that movie should have been called "I Know This Movie Is Unwatchable"
