phew, at least it's not just Sven being silly...even the decent coaches are at it etc.
I'm very annoyed with Rooney at the mo, it's hard to tell if he is being 'victimised' or not, but he does himself no favours and is a liability.

Good result for the Arse playing with half a team in a tough away match. Sol Campbell looks as if he's decided to start earning a fraction of his salary (unlike Rio 'have we started yet?' Ferdinand).
Tonight should be more exciting. Pool vs Chelski in REVENGE GRUDGE MATCH plus Inter vs Rangers in an empty stadium. Draws all round I reckon.

(Actually it features one of the most extraordinary misses I've ever seen, which could have made it 2-0 to Inter.)

I traipsed round SEVEN pubs in Paisley tonight trying to find somewhere to watch the Chelski v Liverpool game. No joy.
I ended up watching the Rangers v Inter game with a bloke from my work who supports Rangers. He was commenting on how it was weird to see a game in front of an empty stadium, I thought he would have been used to it if he ever stayed until five minutes before the end of any match at Ibrox (ba-dum tish, thanks, I'll be here all week)
And yes, that one when the Inter bloke was through on goal and had the worst first touch I have ever seen ever...Rangers were so lucky. As lucky as they were not have had Waterreus sent off.

Artmedia are, evidently, the best team in Europe.

I love how a Champions League thread has turned into a "shite ex-forces in Scottish football" thread.

Gordon Smith couldn't pundit his way out of a goalmouth stramash.
― Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 28 September 2005 23:36 (nineteen years ago) link
Interestingly enough, when you say 'ex-forces', Third Lanark were made up of men from the Third Lanark Rifle Volunteers. What a coincidence!

And you'll then be glad you didn't give in to your inner drunkard and just stay in the pub...
Indidentally, when you win the Sportsound Predictor, you should go and support Artmedia Bratislava in the Champions League final. It's apparently in the Stade de France, a fact which would have won me £30 in the pub quiz tonight, had I known it at the time.
Gordon Smith is a twat. When Cabbage and Vicky were up in Glasgow, we saw him in a restaurant. The temptation to keep mumbling "...and Smith must score" was almost overwhelming.

I was out with some work people and saw Gordon Smith. They were drawing blanks until I said "You know... 'and Smith must score' " then suddenly they knew who I meant.
I actually agree with Martin's point about coefficients and stuff. But if the Jambos were still in Europe I'd want them humped in every match.
Never a penalty in the Rangers game, Wattereus gets a big hand to it.

You mean the way every opposition fan in English football supports Man Utd in European competitions? Or Spurs fans support Arsenal? Etc etc etc etc.
