Congrats!

She's so cute.

But she has the same birthday as a girl I know. That girl gets into so much trouble, nobody can take it any more. She misses so much school too.

But we all know your little one will be an angle! Congradulations again!

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 14:35 (twenty years ago) link

Angel. Sorry.

I need to work on typing and spellling. Oh, becoming a writer is frustrating when you can't spell or type!

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 14:36 (twenty years ago) link

"Charlotte is a punk rocker."

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Saturday, 27 March 2004 14:38 (twenty years ago) link

I'm fully aware that this could get tiresome after a while, but both the daughter and the digital camera are brand new...so...

Oh, so cute!

My friend's mom is pregnate now. Three months I think she said.

Oh, everybody's family is getting new babies but mine. I don't think there's any hope of me getting a brother or sister now! I don't think I'd even get a new cousin.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 17:28 (twenty years ago) link

Alrighty....last one for a while....and yes, I am that much of a predictable cartoon character...

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 27 March 2004 17:58 (twenty years ago) link

Oh so cute!

The Killing Joke shirt and all!

So, what was the first Killing Joke song Charlotte heard? Was it "Eighties"? Must have been, knowing her dad.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 18:05 (twenty years ago) link

No, not "Eighties". It was "Sanity," actually....but that's purely because it was playing on VH1 Classic last night during a feeding.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 27 March 2004 18:23 (twenty years ago) link

What?

It was on VH1!

She's a lucky little one.

I still have yet to see ONE Killing Joke video!!

I had a basketball game last night. Tiring. But worth it! Finally we won! I was a huge part of it too. I had to tell the other girl to just waste time in the last 49 seconds. If I didn't, we would have lost the ball for sure!

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 18:27 (twenty years ago) link

Hey, just out of couriousity (sp?), how did she react to the video? Did she cry of give undivided attention?

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 18:34 (twenty years ago) link

or give

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 18:35 (twenty years ago) link

She was completely unaware....as she is of most visual/sonic stimuli at the moment.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 27 March 2004 19:05 (twenty years ago) link

Oh, well she'll know Killing Joke before you know it. Her third word might be Jaz or Joke, you know. Right after she learns momma and dadda.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 19:14 (twenty years ago) link

Next time she sees a picture of Killing Joke, she'll point and say "Joke" in the cutest voice!

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 19:19 (twenty years ago) link

Charlotte sleeping face = Charlotte listening to Killing Joke face.

Damned kids today, they get older and start ignoring evertthing their parents do or say ... it keeps happening at a younger and younger age ...

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Saturday, 27 March 2004 19:40 (twenty years ago) link

I don't know. I pay attention to what my mom says, most of the time, but I don't think I'm supposed to hear it all.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 27 March 2004 19:46 (twenty years ago) link

Now it has to be said that Alex w/baby = coolness to the nth degree. :-)

How is Peg? After all the stress and sadness she was feeling recently, she must be on cloud nine.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 27 March 2004 20:19 (twenty years ago) link

Awww, such cute photos! She's adorable. :-)

lyra (lyra), Sunday, 28 March 2004 04:09 (twenty years ago) link

Alex, your little girl is precious. You must be so proud. I think it's especially intriguing that she seems to be enjoying your favorite musical artist. Here's to you, your wife, and your new daughter!

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Sunday, 28 March 2004 04:12 (twenty years ago) link

you've made something great there Alex, keep up the good work.

chris (chris), Sunday, 28 March 2004 18:20 (twenty years ago) link

Gratuitous photo of the day. Exhausted mother with sleeping child. Note shelves of discs in the background...probably not to be played again for many, many moons.

That is a cute little kid.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:30 (twenty years ago) link

:-) Rah! Now about those CDs, I could take them off your hands. Hey, why are you looking at me like that?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 23:56 (twenty years ago) link

OMG! Finally a cuteness that doesn't involve kittens!

Vitamin Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 02:19 (twenty years ago) link

That picture of your wife and the new baby is just the coolest, Alex. :) I can't wait for the first family photo!

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 02:38 (twenty years ago) link

Aww she is so beautiful Alex. Hope all is going well with the little one & that your wife is recovering well. Awww so cute, babies roXor!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 06:52 (twenty years ago) link

She's gorgeous. Does this thread get printed and stuck in a baby book so she can ridicule the outdated technology of her birth year?

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 08:18 (twenty years ago) link

The baby reminds me of a sock puppet, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. She is too cute for words. And yes, I think sock puppets are adorable; I am just that kind of freak.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 10:52 (twenty years ago) link

that is a beautiful baby - congrats alex!

cinniblount (James Blount), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 12:07 (twenty years ago) link

She's trying out Jedi mind tricks on mom!

Vitamin Leee (Leee), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:56 (twenty years ago) link

How sweet! What an adorable shot (and Mum looks rather good for the stress).

Glad it turned out so well. (Alright, so I'm a few days late. Sue us;>)

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 1 April 2004 23:30 (twenty years ago) link

jesus, alex, don't take this the wrong way, but I had no idea your wife was so fucking hot.

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 1 April 2004 23:49 (twenty years ago) link

um, what she said

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 1 April 2004 23:52 (twenty years ago) link

I'm glad there's agreement on this notion.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 April 2004 00:14 (twenty years ago) link

Yes, she is lovely, isn't she.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 2 April 2004 00:50 (twenty years ago) link

Further evidence of same from 2001....

Keep an eye on the boys from age 5, tis all I'll say. Charlotte will slay 'em.

Alex, you are one lucky guy...said from my neutral pedestal, o' course.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Friday, 2 April 2004 00:54 (twenty years ago) link

And I'm loving the tie, BTW

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Friday, 2 April 2004 00:54 (twenty years ago) link

I'm so hungry.

glad you have a happy life, alex! sincerely.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 2 April 2004 00:55 (twenty years ago) link

Yeah, tell me more about the meal please.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 April 2004 01:05 (twenty years ago) link

Congrats Alex. What wonderful pictures.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 2 April 2004 02:00 (twenty years ago) link

Yeah, tell me more about the meal please.

That was at Smith & Wollenski's in midtown after I'd proposed. We saw Rush Limbaugh go by (looking much the portlier) and Peggy stole an engraved steak knife (she has a latant cleptomaniacal streak).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 2 April 2004 02:20 (twenty years ago) link

...and she is the very brillaint and perpetually incandescent
luminescence of my life.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 2 April 2004 02:22 (twenty years ago) link

Wait, had you proposed right then and there? Or later in the day?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 April 2004 03:31 (twenty years ago) link

Actually, i'd proposed on Halloween of 2000. This was a month or so afterwards (prior to 2001, but I always make that mistake, as we used the above photo for an engagement party invitaion in 2001.)

I proposed in my living room.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 2 April 2004 14:40 (twenty years ago) link

Aww, your family are too cute Alex!!
