To taste the full-on firehose of teen mania, search for the game of thrones tag on tumblr, especially around a new episode.
Popular themes include:
"OMG! I'm having so many feels right now, I can't handle it! [insert 10 wacky GIFs of people freaking out]"
and
"I know it's wrong, but I can't stop shipping Arya and Gendry hardcore!"

imho Harrenhal + Arya, possibly my least favorite parts of the second book, are the stand out scenes this season
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 May 2012 23:48 (twelve years ago) link
It wasn't Tywin in the books, right? Because that's what's been really amazing.

two episodes in a row with no tits I'm pretty sure. Unprecedented.
There was boobis in the last episode.
I've been keeping track.
Who is the woman with the crazy mask? And where can I obtain naked ritual back-painting services on the east coast?
Her name is Quaithe. To say more would be spoiling.

brief though, and the previous episode was chaste iirc? their skin quotient overlords at HBO seem to have lowered the tithe this season.

so um for the people like me who haven't read the books and don't want spoilers
SPECULATIONS PLEASE
bran and ricon can't be dead, right? so um what happened? those the bodies of the farm kids? did theon deliberately let the princes go and burn up the kids? (hard to accept that one...)
― sean gramophone, Wednesday, 16 May 2012 13:54 (twelve years ago) link
i actually looked that up and spoilered it for myself. had to know.
― Porto for Pyros (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 16 May 2012 13:57 (twelve years ago) link
It seemed really obvious to me that it was those two orphan boys. Bran and Ricon et al were hiding at the farm, I guess? Or at least they went near it. The dogs picked up the scent. Theon failed again because he's lol Theon and killed the kids to make a point to the people of Winterfell. That's my guess, anyway. I don't see why you'd mention the two orphan boys if you weren't going to use them at some point.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Wednesday, 16 May 2012 14:05 (twelve years ago) link
not read the books and I'll be well pleased to be proved wrong, except I don't want anything to happen to Bran (don't care about Ricon).

Sean that is amazing to me that you haven't read the books and good on you for not wanting to be spoiled, but for serious if you're looking for a spoiler-free experience you should just turn off the internet entirely
― poxen, Wednesday, 16 May 2012 15:44 (twelve years ago) link
I've managed to not be spoiled yet, except for a phrase that seems to be a big deal event later on but I don't know what it means or what it consists of.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Wednesday, 16 May 2012 15:52 (twelve years ago) link
I'm not panicked about spoilers, just avoiding them. But ot's one of the funny downsides of watching a show based on books lots of people have already read: there aren't as many long fun wild internet threads of speculation about what will happen. (See: MAD MEN.) All of that fun speculative talk happens in the book threads, instead!
― sean gramophone, Wednesday, 16 May 2012 16:26 (twelve years ago) link
OK! But like don't click on anything. GoT's online info is ridiculously spoiler-y. Big Events happen followed by other Big Events and they're so Big and so "like, totally 2004" that I suppose when this Wiki was made or that conversation was posted online people just assumed you could safely talk about Lancel's Kablooie or Arya's Lizard Transformation without anyone 'not knowing' that these things had happened.
i.e. Like, you're like, "huh, Ygritte, who's she again?" and then you click a link and then it's "WHAAAT???"!""!"
― poxen, Wednesday, 16 May 2012 16:35 (twelve years ago) link
^ assuming that's just some made up shit, or some mod really oughtta delete that post. there's a separate thread for people who've read the books and wanna talk about the show.

but for serious if you're looking for a spoiler-free experience you should just turn off the internet entirely
there is a GoT dictionary (i think, or maybe wiki) that does not spoil anything that hasn't happened in the series so far that i've been safely using the dozen or so times a week when I forget who's who or whatever. it's usually the first or second hit when i google the info i want. there's a lot of people tuning into watch this tv show who have not taken the time to read the half-dozen books and many GoT-related sites, that I've seen, seem to respect that fact. THIS thread is the only place where I have had stuff spoiled (and it wasn't too serious so I didn't really get bent out of shape).
i don't think it's asking too much to let us illiterate common folk speculate here, content to be in the dark about what happens next; and take the "I can't wait 'till XXX spoiler lizard monster kills yadda yadda" talk to the book thread or some other spoilerfest thread.

Our GoT watching gang includes only 1 person out of 6 who hasn't read the books, and to boot she is someone who gets rly worried/anxious about things. It's so hard not to mercy-spoil when she's like (e.g. most recent ep) 'NO IS JON SNOW GONNA DIE?' 'DID HE KILL BRAN?'

TUNE in
my group is split 50/50 - but as soon as pot enters the equation my one friend start absentmindedly entering the spoiler zone of doom (doom because i pummel him).
'DID HE KILL BRAN?'and yes - this is the question that led me to intentionally spoilering it myself!

Would be disappointed if Bran were to actually be dead because in retrospect it would've been handled so poorly.

you realize that you guys have now effectively spoiled the "is bran dead?" question. i mean, i figured he wasn't, and i expect any sensible viewer would figure the same, but please, for god's sake, stop responding here if you've read the books and can't keep a tight lid on what you know.
