No need to fill in the blank. Use your imagination and I'm sure you'll get close.

I am hopelessly bored and restless today. I have accomplished nothing (okay, I did start the laundry going). Even if I could go anywhere and do anything today, I have no idea what would get rid of the restlessness. So aggravating. (Of course, this is probably a result of the fact that I am procrastinating on a number of things...)

Good morning, you strange animals.

Yes, precisely. Glurg.

Good morning/glurg. (A new language to be learned... how intriguing. And yet FB's diagram seems to be labeled in Japanese/Nihongo. Hmmmm.)

But I greet you all with all due affection in any case.

I am tempted to link that pic from the menstruation thread.

Young Fresh Danny D (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 14:57 (eighteen years ago) link

No.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 14:59 (eighteen years ago) link

Spread the love, Dan.

Worst choice of phrase EVER.

I keep trying to decide if you guys have changed at all and I keep coming back to the same answer: NO.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:02 (eighteen years ago) link

Er, not that there's anything wrong with that...

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:02 (eighteen years ago) link

Spread the glurg.

FB, remember Glog?

Also, have you seen the picture in question?

John Justen,a ninja slapboxing fajitas out of J. Casablancas dental dam. (johnju, Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:05 (eighteen years ago) link

If I keep this up, maybe I'll get my own "Ban John Justen and his long username" thread on ModReq.

Oh. My.

The pictorial depiction of an actual memory, or just what you have planned for the evening?

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:48 (eighteen years ago) link

You should have seen some of the ALTERNATE vomit pictures I found. Yutch.

John Justen,a ninja slapboxing fajitas out of J. Casablancas dental dam. (johnju, Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:55 (eighteen years ago) link

I'll just be grateful for the small things in life...

Plus I'm intimately acquainted with vomiting. (When I was pregnant with J., Alex thought my morning sickness was great fun. "Do it again, Mommy, LOTS OF TIMES!")

And then there was the time I threw up on my desk in first grade...

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 15:59 (eighteen years ago) link

Just a quick note: I apologize for not thanking M@tt for the Patton clip. Holy shit.

I am concerned that you will all become All My Children addicts now. Well, so be it, I can do nothing to stop you.

In other news, I am freezing, but I refuse to turn the heat on because 4ust1n won't admit that it is cold in the house. He did, however, send me this thought from a running blog, which I like:

Now is the time to store up good vibes for the long days of winter. Gather ye rosebuds and all that crap—we’re about to enter the suck.

(Remember how hot it was this summer? Remember that?)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 17:50 (eighteen years ago) link

FB, what is that creature supposed to be? It looks like a combination of a seal and a brachiosaur to me. (It's cute! If alarmingly cheery-looking.)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 17:52 (eighteen years ago) link

I have much residents and now 2 klaatu albums

The GZeus (The GZeus), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 18:07 (eighteen years ago) link

KLAAAAATTTTUUUUU!

John Justen,a ninja slapboxing fajitas out of J. Casablancas dental dam. (johnju, Wednesday, 20 September 2006 18:11 (eighteen years ago) link

"Klaatu" sounds like an alien from an old sci fi movie. (I didn't know there was related music! So many things to learn.)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 18:19 (eighteen years ago) link

Weirdest part: I am dead certain that I've never seen that movie.

As for music, I think I need, I don't know, a class or something. It could be called, "The Stuff You Missed While You Weren't Paying Attention Again, You Idiot. Now Wake the Hell Up."

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 18:45 (eighteen years ago) link

i've never heard that klaatu album. always wanted to...does it sound that much like the beatles?

M@tt He1geson: Real Name, No Gimmicks (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 18:47 (eighteen years ago) link

Not really, which has always amused me. I love it though.

I had a roommate in college who made me detest "We All Live in a Yellow Submarine" beyond all reason. She used to jump on her mini-trampoline to that all the time.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 19:45 (eighteen years ago) link

OMG, thirty seconds of that on the big screen would be awesomely funny. Cut to Sara's expression of creeping horror. Next scene.

Fluffy Bear, among 100% of the population (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 19:48 (eighteen years ago) link

See, you should have visited me at college...

Actually, she has got to be one of the strangest people I knew at Olaf; after leaving, she changed her name (first, middle, and last) to something totally different. I found her completely exhausting.

(Next scene: possibly Sara fleeing her dorm room, half-dressed? Very possible.)

Good guess... and I'll tell you guys about it either via email or in person sometime. I must run now (lecture plus lab awaits).

Suffice it to say that you may have run into her at Carleton, John. (Er, I don't mean that in anything but a "wow, that is a strange woman" way.)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Wednesday, 20 September 2006 20:03 (eighteen years ago) link

Teaching a language you speak to people that have a native tongue you DON'T speak...
Yeah.

I'm glad i'll be getting $15 an hour after this, which will allow me to get more awesome bullshit in japan.
Old Japanese Sega shit, here I come.

The GZeus (The GZeus), Thursday, 21 September 2006 03:12 (eighteen years ago) link

I got home last night after staring at endless slides of tissues, all of which look... pink. Histology is going to be my undoing (or at least what causes me to lose my eyesight), I can see that now.

However, while I was gone, A. put 127 new songs on my computer (and transferred the stuff I didn't have to his computer). That made my night.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 21 September 2006 13:36 (eighteen years ago) link

Turned 29 yesterday. Jeez. Didn't figure it was worth a new thread, though. A better idea: posting in a thread I almost never visit and would have no reason to except that it's vaguely tangentially related to a town within a short distance of where I live.

nate p. (natepatrin), Thursday, 21 September 2006 16:49 (eighteen years ago) link

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NATE!

Young Fresh Danny D (Dan Perry), Thursday, 21 September 2006 16:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Happy birthday to you,
you live in a shoe...

Oh, just kidding. Happy birthday. 29 is nice. I remember 29... vaguely.

Do you have Big Plans?

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 21 September 2006 16:57 (eighteen years ago) link

Just some family stuff, though I went to a dollar theater with some friends last night to see Miami Vice. Which was at least interesting to look at, if anything.

nate p. (natepatrin), Thursday, 21 September 2006 16:58 (eighteen years ago) link

I think the last time I went to a dollar theater, I saw Coyote Ugly, which was... well, interesting to look at.

I hope you get to do exactly what you want to do for your birthday. (Go out with friends, have a surprise party... whatever your thing is. I won't project my perfect birthday notions onto you.)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 21 September 2006 17:02 (eighteen years ago) link

The more I think about it, the more of a notion I have that Colin Farrell was out-acted by a Ferrari.

nate p. (natepatrin), Thursday, 21 September 2006 17:03 (eighteen years ago) link

That is the perfect movie review, right there.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 21 September 2006 17:04 (eighteen years ago) link

The thing is that the Ferrari engine was at no point poorly attempting to imitate the exhaust note of a Corvette engine.

nate p. (natepatrin), Thursday, 21 September 2006 17:05 (eighteen years ago) link

(Also it did not have a ridiculous mustache)

nate p. (natepatrin), Thursday, 21 September 2006 17:06 (eighteen years ago) link

I think you need to see some better movies!

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 21 September 2006 17:09 (eighteen years ago) link

Not that I have any suggestions in this area.

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 21 September 2006 17:10 (eighteen years ago) link

I have Point Blank, Blood Simple and The Last Picture Show sitting at home fresh from NetFlix, so I'm on that road, hopefully.
