To be honest, though I'm sure it's financially hair-raising, Scott Seward's life of listening to/selling cool records and reading/selling amazing books while having a cool wife and cool kids seems pretty enviable.

i remember being 11 and having to pelt the john with biscuits but my mom fucking had the sliding glass door shut so I couldn't get in and I dropped a turd right in my pants that was long and slender, like a sausage....

Also just narrowly avoided this last year, but it was still pretty embarassing. had a theatre rehearsal in a hot warehouse and made the mistake of eating greasy Chicken Fries from BK 5 mins prior. My stomach started bubbling and I had to start crumping to avoid releasing my bowels all over the floor.

This warehouse had a bathroom but well it wasn't used very often. I realized that trying to hold it wouldn't work so I finally ran in there and took a humongous shit. fortunately there was toilet paper in there.

but imagine the look of horror on my face when I flushed the toilet and it only made a wee little sound and still retained all of the rancid feces. and did so after a second flush.

Oh and it was a photo shoot that day for the play. Meaning the girls needed to use said bathroom. At the time, my g/f and I had been dating like 2 months. Leaving behind Shaqbombs in the toilet where she'd be changing would have been an instant breakup.

It also took a while to wipe so every 5 minutes the girls in the cast were knocking to taunt me and asked if I was masturbating in there. I started saying I was because that was a preferable alternative.

But after the third flush, teh shit went down the hole. Thank God. The scent may have lingered but my g/f didn't say anything.

looking at the maps this doesn't appear to be a regional thing at all. it's just that a lot of people are wrong.

btw i applaud the restraint of ilx to not post chaki's "hot chick in my bed" post nor orbit's "contract that can make your dick shrivel" post ironically, altho both of these posts were definitely lurking in the back of my mind when making this thread.

yes exactly. basically i'm in awe of people who post here and seem to also ski or hike or have active dating and social lives. not in a lol dorks way, but a genuine "wow you have a real life AND a internet life" way. i associate the internet with hard times. when social and sexual and urge for physical activity lives are going well for me i view the internet as an embarrassing relic of sadness. no offense though! lurker since '02. much hard times.

braggin

--bob marley (lag∞n), Saturday, 27 October 2012 20:19 (eleven years ago) link

braggin: i have good times and bad times. last year around this time was not a good time in my life. but i wouldn't trade places with anyone. case in point: last night i went to a birthday party in easthampton and i was surrounded by friends and creative people who i really like to be with. it felt great. i ended up sitting around a fire pit in the backyard talking about zombies and the end of the world with a guy who helped start the onion paper and site, a local used book dealer i like, and my favorite member of the band pussy galore (not the blues dude). and i remember where i was and what i was doing 3 years ago on marthas vineyard and i cringe and i thank the zombie gods that i got out of a bad situation and put myself into a better one. i ate cherry pie three days in a row this week for lunch and i am alive and i love my kids and maria so much i could die. but it took me 44 years to get there. and i still have really bad weeks. but it doesn't matter because the trees are so fucking beautiful around here.

and now i'm going to take a shower and go to a museum and then go to a cocktail tasting and then see an ilxor and a bunch of other guys perform live music and then go see a woman i'm dating DJ at another museum (not the first museum) and then we're going to go out and have a nice meal and then go home and have sex and sleep and then I'll get up and throw some pottery and then watch the thursday NFL game on tivo that I couldn't watch because I was out at a job interview where i was promised more work and then went to my OTHER pottery class and then went to a big society event food and wine tasting with a gal DJ (not the first gal DJ) and after I'm done with the NFL game while I do some work I'll go to see a maestro of indian tabla and likely have to break up with a woman i love dearly but that i just don't see working out and then I'll go see a series of short films about the Spanish labor movement and then go to the Ukrainian House and eat pickles and watch more music and then i'm going to KEEP FUCKING DOING THIS UNTIL I DIE

M. White, habitue of San Francisco, debonair banker and man about town, fluent in french and fine wines, often seen in WDYLL threads dressed to the teeth and surrounded by pretty women, caught in an 'ilx takes this all in stride and eschews conspicuous display of envy' shockah!!
