Go On has been cancelled sorry Matthew Perry

Gukbe, Friday, 10 May 2013 19:29 (eleven years ago) link

I didn't like it as much as Mr. Sunshine, and I only kind of liked Mr. Sunshine.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 May 2013 19:30 (eleven years ago) link

I kept meaning to check out Go On and kept forgetting. I liked Mr Sunshine

Goon had some moments here and there were it was really hilarious, but they were fleeting

seanpennderizer (some dude), Friday, 10 May 2013 19:57 (eleven years ago) link

They really should have marketed the show as GOON.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 May 2013 19:58 (eleven years ago) link

Also, Chicago Fire is getting a spinoff, because Dick Wolf.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 May 2013 20:10 (eleven years ago) link

I keep hoping that Dick Wolf is married to a woman named Pussy Lion

I want it to be the Air Wolf spinoff

This is my favorite quote from the comments of the Go On cancellation story on TV Line:

“NBC HAS LOST HIS MIND!!!”

Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 May 2013 20:21 (eleven years ago) link

Hahaha

seanpennderizer (some dude), Friday, 10 May 2013 20:22 (eleven years ago) link

lol

Smash canceled just now. Add that to The New Normal, Go On, Whitney, and a ton of other NBC shit I didn't watch...what's left besides Hannibal? And will that survive? It appears NBC is going into the fall with about 80% freshman content. Jack Donaghy tanked it!

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 11 May 2013 02:06 (eleven years ago) link

pretty amazing that Community lived to see another day

seanpennderizer (some dude), Saturday, 11 May 2013 02:11 (eleven years ago) link

(✿◠‿◠) i guess we're not in the darkest timeline! (◡‿◡✿)

stefon taylor swiftboat (s.clover), Saturday, 11 May 2013 02:22 (eleven years ago) link

'mr sunshine' was funnier, but meaner. lots of dopey awkwardness-comedy on 'go on'. both shows' premises were too limited.

what is the 'chicago fire' spinoff going to be about? arson investigators? arsonists? burn unit nurses? fire code inspectors??

i was wondering on the law & order thread a few weeks ago about tv shows doing 9/11 material -

that cbs midseason replacement (which got cancelled) 'golden boy' set its last episode around a 9/11 flashback that went pretty all-in: chi mcbride watching the second plane hit, seeing the explosion in a window reflection, people running the streets with ashes raining down, then the collapse - all as incidental to a case one of the characters was investigating that morning.

Gave a peek to two of the NBC fall series trailers.

Michael J. Fox's show looks like it might be okay. The Blacklist looks stupid, even though I love Spader.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Friday, 17 May 2013 23:36 (eleven years ago) link

I thought Blacklist looked cool

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 17 May 2013 23:40 (eleven years ago) link

It looks like a lot of other ideas crammed into one series (rookie profiler, criminal mastermind making the FBI work for him, et al). Spader might still win me over, though. I'll watch it.

I have been having a few sneaky peeks at Wentworth which I purely downloaded for my missus. It is a Prisoner Cell Block H reboot, if you need to ask you probably don't need to know.

Crazy ratings chart fun

lol at the office

klaus dingeldore's rhinelander monkey keeper father (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:17 (eleven years ago) link

for a show as dead as The Office had been getting, 26% drop is actually better than i would've expected post-Carell

Nhex, Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:27 (eleven years ago) link

but hey, Bob's Burgers went up! nice.

Nhex, Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:28 (eleven years ago) link

Well, The Office drop is just from last year, so it isn't from Carell to post-Carell.

polyphonic, Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:29 (eleven years ago) link

how the hell have Mike & Molly and 2 Broke Girls survived cancellation

they are either militarists (ugh) or kangaroos (?) (DJP), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:29 (eleven years ago) link

same reason community did? i imagine spinning wheels or dice games or a dartboard being involved

O_o-O_O-o_O (jjjusten), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:30 (eleven years ago) link

Well, M&M isn't coming back until midseason next time.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:31 (eleven years ago) link

lol I didn't even see Two and a Half Men on there, it's down so low

poor Happy Endings ;_; it's realy sad, it ended

they are either militarists (ugh) or kangaroos (?) (DJP), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:34 (eleven years ago) link

TV Line said a couple days ago that no news might be good news on the Happy Endings front, as Sony and USA are still silently negotiating. If no deal is done, though, DW Jr. will likely return to The New Girl.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:35 (eleven years ago) link

it will be weird/interesting for that show to have two black men it can kind of ignore/push off to the side

they are either militarists (ugh) or kangaroos (?) (DJP), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:39 (eleven years ago) link

I'm still semi-sad that they didn't try to force Maya Rudolph to continue Up All Night by herself

like, maybe Reagan and Chris died, leaving Eva and Scott to raise Amy; oh, and also because of the pressures of fame and Hollywood they all drop everything and move to Montana, where Eva buys a pet buffalo

they are either militarists (ugh) or kangaroos (?) (DJP), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:44 (eleven years ago) link

!

You should've called NBC with this concept a few months ago.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:45 (eleven years ago) link

2nd season don't trust the b was great. so depressing.

wonder why supernatural went up so much

stefon taylor swiftboat (s.clover), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:50 (eleven years ago) link

Supernatural fans are insane, possibly only outmania-ed by Doctor Who fans

they are either militarists (ugh) or kangaroos (?) (DJP), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:57 (eleven years ago) link

but i don't get why it went _up_ -- did they get more insane over the summer or did they just get sick of last season and then get excited again

stefon taylor swiftboat (s.clover), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:58 (eleven years ago) link

I've never watched Supernatural, but I always think of it as whatever Eric Brady from Days of Our Lives is doing now that he's no longer in Salem (same actor).

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 23 May 2013 19:59 (eleven years ago) link

And yes, I did watch Days for several years in the mid-to-late 90s.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 23 May 2013 20:00 (eleven years ago) link

but i don't get why it went _up_ -- did they get more insane over the summer or did they just get sick of last season and then get excited again

the showrunner revealed at Comic-Con that he had plotted out the show to the end of season 10 and sent the fans into a tizzy of drumming up viewership so they could see the show through to that ending point IIRC

they are either militarists (ugh) or kangaroos (?) (DJP), Thursday, 23 May 2013 20:04 (eleven years ago) link

i get the feeling Supernatural is one of those weird sleeper NCIS-type shows that grew in audience over the past few years as cable reruns/netflix/etc. made it more popular, it is a show that will just not die

Nhex, Thursday, 23 May 2013 20:05 (eleven years ago) link

wait what? i thought the show was supposed to end like two seasons ago

Nhex, Thursday, 23 May 2013 20:05 (eleven years ago) link

Speaking of shows that WILL die, does anyone want to watch that Anne Heche thing tonight?

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 23 May 2013 20:06 (eleven years ago) link

god no

Nhex, Thursday, 23 May 2013 20:06 (eleven years ago) link

Supernatural fans are insane, possibly only outmania-ed by Doctor Who fans

Uh no, Supernatural fans are much worse than even Doctor Who fans. Just search Supernatural on Fandom Wank.

...also i'm awesome (Nicole), Thursday, 23 May 2013 20:12 (eleven years ago) link
