No, I haven't. Should I?

Yanno, I was really sort of casual about the fact that I threw away the only paper with a copy of my bar examinee number on it and thus have to wait for my results to arrive in the mail. Really casual, that is, until the results went up on the internet and now everybody knows but me and the other handful of idiots who were so dazed after the exam was over that they threw out everything that was even remotely related to the stupid test.

NOW I WANT TO KNOW SO I CAN CELEBRATE WITH MY COMRADES.
― Jenny, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:30 (sixteen years ago) link
I keep looking at the page that lists all the numbers (hxxps://www.ibaby.org/testresults.php) to see if I recognize mine but I don't.

I'm telling ya, Gorky Park is where it's at for that a+b+c+d.
― Eazy, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:32 (sixteen years ago) link
Amanda, yes, it is great and I thought of it when I read your criteria above. It's basically a Southwestern noir novel about hitmen and drug-running on the Texas/Mexico border in the 80s, and for Cormac McCarthy it's super-readable. And the movie is coming out soon.

I CARE ABOUT RADIOHEAD ALBUM!!!!
Jenny, I heard that you passed.
― Jesse, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:33 (sixteen years ago) link
Shut up. You will feel so bad if I failed.
― Jenny, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:34 (sixteen years ago) link
Not as bad as I will feel, though.
― Jenny, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:38 (sixteen years ago) link
:(
― Jordan, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:38 (sixteen years ago) link
I will stock up on all these well-rounded crime books. Thank you!
― La Lechera, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:39 (sixteen years ago) link
AMANDA TELL ME THINGS ABOUT RADIOHEAD!
― Jesse, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:41 (sixteen years ago) link
If you buy a physical copy of the album it is like 80 bucks.
― dan m, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:42 (sixteen years ago) link
I am not Amanda.
I don't know squat about Radiohead!
― La Lechera, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:42 (sixteen years ago) link
Tell me more, tell me more.
― Jesse, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:42 (sixteen years ago) link
I bet I'll like the new Radiohead.
Nick reminded me that my sister mailed me 3 books she loved. I want to go home and read Bel Canto all day so I can read those.
― KitCat, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:43 (sixteen years ago) link
I thought that was just for the super-special edition with the vinyl and the bonus cd and artwork and stuff.

http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/46015-new-radiohead-album-aaaaaaahhh
I can give you some nonsense, though, if that's what you want...
Radiohead brought down the Berlin Wall Radiohead has an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education Radiohead is the beer of choice for 48-year-old accountants Radiohead makes every sandwich taste like a million bucks
― La Lechera, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:43 (sixteen years ago) link
Oh, I thought that was Amanda asking "Jordan, do you care about the new Radiohead album." But no, it was Jordan asking himself...
― Jesse, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:44 (sixteen years ago) link
Oh you're right, there are only the download and the super-bonus set planned for release at this point.
― n/a, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:44 (sixteen years ago) link
So you can pay either 1) $80 to order the set from the UK, or 2) whatever you want for the download. Hmmm, tough choice.
(sarcasm)
I'm going to do the download. I am thinking I'll pay $9.00
― Jesse, Monday, 1 October 2007 15:58 (sixteen years ago) link
I'm an insane bastard and ordered the $80 "discbox". The artwork looks pretty nice, plus the bonus songs sold me. Wouldn't have happened if I didn't get an unexpected bonus at work though.
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:02 (sixteen years ago) link
Where can you order the stuff anyway? On their blog I only found a link the their homepage, which only links back to the blog.
I am going to download it for $0 dollars and if I like it I will probably buy it eventually, assuming there is a normally-priced cd or vinyl release at some point.
― Jordan, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:04 (sixteen years ago) link
From what I've heard, a regular CD release will be in stores sometime in '08.
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:05 (sixteen years ago) link
It's pretty cool they're doing all this without a label too. More established bands should handle their own business without a label.
― n/a, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:05 (sixteen years ago) link
I have not been excited about Radiohead in quite a few years -- Kid A was released October 3, 2000, which makes it officially seven years since I cared. But I have to love this marketing ploy. Brilliant.
― kenan, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:05 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, now that they don't need the marketing, this is exactly what they should be doing. I wonder if they paid for their studio time out of pocket?
Their last three records are my favorite.

I haven't really been excited by the last few Radiohead albums, but I think it has more to do with me than with them. I still really respect them a lot.
― n/a, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:10 (sixteen years ago) link
Though each album has at least one or two really exciting songs on it.
― n/a, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:11 (sixteen years ago) link
Now I want to listen to the last couple so I can reassess them. I don't even remember which songs are on which. Not on my ipod so I guess I'm waiting until I get home.
I accidentally wiped my iPod this morning when I plugged it into my work computer. All the newest stuff is gone, and all the stuff on my work machine is all I have for the day.
Sigh. Life will continue.

Yeah, Idioteque is definitely one of their best songs. Is National Anthem the one with the horn section? I like the one with the horn section.

How long till Jeff shows up and shits on Radiohead?
― Jesse, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:20 (sixteen years ago) link
Radiohead is perfect, perfect reading, working, and train music.
― Jesse, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:21 (sixteen years ago) link
Esp the last 3 albums.
Everything in its Right Place is my favorite Kid A track.
― Jordan, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:21 (sixteen years ago) link
I liked the Thom Yorke album last year... liked it a good bit.
― kenan, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:23 (sixteen years ago) link
I like "I Could Be Wrong," especially the midsong breakdown and what follows.
― n/a, Monday, 1 October 2007 16:24 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, there a couple tracks on the TY album that I love.
Thx Nick, I made my 0 pound purchase.
