:( Why not?

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 29 September 2005 11:06 (eighteen years ago) link

It's early days yet.

I see you have the funny apostrophe keyboard.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Thursday, 29 September 2005 11:15 (eighteen years ago) link

It goes the wrong way!

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 29 September 2005 11:27 (eighteen years ago) link

It is, in fact, an accent.

You can go through my posts and ascertain whether I am using a Spanish keyboard or not by the presence or otherwise of said funny apostrophe.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Thursday, 29 September 2005 11:41 (eighteen years ago) link

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 29 September 2005 20:54 (eighteen years ago) link

Да, ты так должна. Yes. Who's up for some Zubrovka?

According to legend, Zubrowka yields medicinal benefits, and imparts the strength of the bison to all who drink it. The vodka contains no bison, but is flavoured using bison grass which grows in small clumps in the glades of the Bialowieza Forest on the border between Russia and Poland. The grass is harvested in the summer, when its aromatic qualities are at their optimum and then placed over sieves through which the spirit is then passed several times. The spirit is then mixed with a high quality dry rye vodka made from a secret ancient recipe and left for a few weeks to infuse together. At bottling, a single blade of the grass is then added, by hand, to each bottle. The vodka was traditionally drunk at the end of a good day's shooting by hunters, and it is now the most popular flavoured vodka in Poland.Very interesting flavour which you either love or hate. It has complex flavours of lavender, thyme, and coconut, with the aroma of freshly mowed grass A wonderful vodka, delicious neat and chilled, or mixed with English apple juice.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Thursday, 29 September 2005 23:37 (eighteen years ago) link

Honey, I have half a bottle of it in my cupboard! Makes the best bloody marys. If you mix it with apple juice, it's called tatanka. TATANKA!

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 30 September 2005 05:30 (eighteen years ago) link

Yes I have half a bottle of this in my freezer. yum yum yum.

I have just been enjoying a guide to Cozen's desk on Flickr.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 3 October 2005 06:47 (eighteen years ago) link

What an interesting afternoon. I saw TV's Ricky 'Alrigh laaa' Tomlinson in Borders, closely followed by politics' Nicola 'Growl' Sturgeon in the Post Office. He was signing copies of his new book. She was getting some post redirected. I couldn't make out her address on the form.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Monday, 3 October 2005 12:28 (eighteen years ago) link

I think stalking Nicola Sturgeon would be a ridiculous venture.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 3 October 2005 12:34 (eighteen years ago) link

It'd be totally excellent!

scotstvo (scotstvo), Monday, 3 October 2005 12:53 (eighteen years ago) link

Well I'm not getting involved.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 3 October 2005 13:02 (eighteen years ago) link

You cannae anyway. I couldn't make out her address on the form.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Monday, 3 October 2005 13:05 (eighteen years ago) link

I sat opposite Nicola Sturgeon on the train about 3 weeks ago. She is tiny and has very lovely eyes. Her briefcase seemed to be very well organised. She got off at Falkirk High as far as I remember.

Stew (stew s), Monday, 3 October 2005 15:29 (eighteen years ago) link

Yo Neil. I see you've joined in the try Glasgow more thread! Settled in OK?

KeefW (kmw), Monday, 3 October 2005 15:43 (eighteen years ago) link

What a ridiculous venture.

Hope this isn't a stoopid quetion but has the Cossachok been booked for Fri? Count me in, is all.

Funnily enough, I did that very thing today. Provisionally booked for 10 people for 8pm under my name. I need to call back with credit card details or go in with a deposit of £5 per head to confirm. I can stump up £50 just now if need be, but any chance of a head count?

I make it:

Me
Neil
Madchen
Ally C
Cozen
Dahlin
Mr Dahlin
Stew
Scotstvo
Grimly

RJG, are you coming too? Cozen, are you a definite? The table's booked in my surname and will be paid provisionally by this time tomorrow. I don't see there being a problem with us adding another place or two if required.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 3 October 2005 17:11 (eighteen years ago) link

SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

; )

RJG (RJG), Monday, 3 October 2005 17:24 (eighteen years ago) link

I am definite!

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 3 October 2005 17:24 (eighteen years ago) link

Some of my post seems to have been eaten up by the ILX gremlins. It consisted of me hoping that 8pm was OK, I figured that would give people time to get places after their work, go home and get changed, or go to the pub for a while.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 3 October 2005 17:34 (eighteen years ago) link

I am a definite!

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 3 October 2005 19:53 (eighteen years ago) link

I have discovered the next going-out venue. Sunday afternoon cocktails at the 500 Club! We were there on Sunday and drank cocktails and ate excellent food and it wasn't that expensive and it's a nice place! Hurrah! I have being trying Glasgow more, and I've decided I quite like it.

Also, I work there now (Glasgow, not the 500 Club).

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 3 October 2005 19:55 (eighteen years ago) link

Where is it?

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 3 October 2005 21:21 (eighteen years ago) link

See if you paid attention instead of calling me ridiculous, you would know.

(Round the corner/up the street from the 13th Note)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 3 October 2005 21:26 (eighteen years ago) link

Oh, you're talking about the 500 club! I am ridiculous, and do not pay attention.

It's next to the Three Judges in that swanky new block where the Volcano used to be.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 3 October 2005 21:26 (eighteen years ago) link
